About Lyndsay Stradtner

Lyndsay Stradtner and I am a natural light photographer with 14 years experience. While home is Austin, Texas, my family and I are currently traveling the US in an RV full time. Yes, we sold our 2,400 square foot home for a 400 square foot RV and couldn’t be happier about it! While our initial goal was to travel full time for one year, that quickly turned in to (at least) 3 years. I am married to a really great guy named Jason. With 5 kids (Ty, Taryn, Jude, Jonah and Zachary) and 2 dogs (Maggie and Pepper), our lives are filled with laughter and chaos, and I wouldn’t have it any other way! Dough baby is back

Dough baby is back and so happy!  From one tablespoon of dehydrated sourdough powder to doubling and rising in 5 days!  Right after I took this photo Jude made some sourdough pizza dough and it rose again, more than tripling in size. It’s funny because I shared some starter with my friend Amanda a few months ago and they are parked right next to us. When dough baby died, she offered us some of her active starter and it was tempting (easier) but I kinda wanted to see and make sure I could reactivate the dehydrated starter I tucked away, knowing I could still grab some from her if […]

always extra

This boy, y’all.  He’s always extra and it’s one of my favorite things about him (even when it’s exhausting).  We recently moved all Jonah’s toiletries to the back tiny bathroom in our toyhauler.  Zachary and Jonah both fight going to bed every night and it was an ongoing battle over who had to go brush their teeth first.  Every.  Single.  Night.  So we moved Jonah to to the back bathroom and while they still procrastinate, it’s SO much easier having them in two different spaces during this time of day.  Something so simple restored so much peace.  Parenting = constant adjusting, right?!

fall colored leaves

I love that the boys saw fall colored leaves on the ground and immediately ran to show me with breathless excitement, insisting we keep them on the mantel.  I get really excited about fall too, it’s my favorite season, especially when we just so happen to be in the northeast.  We lucked in to reservations in Acadia National Park this year during what will hopefully be peek fall foliage and we are all looking forward to it!

evening routine

These are the good old days.  I know I’m gonna miss this evening routine some day.  Their evening routine is pretty consistent.  After dinner they do their chores.  Taryn washes the dishes, Jude puts them away, clears the counters and picks up the floors.  Then they fix a snack (sometimes frozen fruit, sometimes Jude makes a sourdough pizza), snuggle in with one or two of the dogs to watch an episode of TV once the little boys are in bed.  Its fun binging some iconic shows and movies with them.  They laugh in all the right places and memes they’ve seen online are now in context.  So far we’ve done a handful […]

sourdough baby is back

While we have had a pretty traditional kitchen for over 12 years, I didn’t dive in to gluten free sourdough until late last year.  And then I got hurt.  Taryn and Jason took over care of our “dough baby” as Jason lovingly called it.  We use it almost daily, replacing many store bought products.  Gluten free varieties tend to be filled with equally hard to digest ingredients so I was very happy to get rid of a lot of what we were purchasing.  There are so many benefits to eating sourdough! Because it’s fermented, it’s easier to digest and the nutrients are more readily absorbed.  Acquiring more of these essential nutrients […]

if Maggie could talk

If Maggie could talk:  “Heard you were thinking of leaving….if I sit on you, you’ll stay!”

Today was a big day for Taryn, she started the application process for an apprenticeship that would be an incredible opportunity for her.  It’s very competitive and a long shot, but we are so proud of her for taking a big leap toward her future dreams!  As soon as she started talking about living somewhere else next summer, Mags jumped up interrupting her application rough draft.
