1.  Sing it with me now….one of these things is not like the other….one of these things just isn’t the same…..

[I realize this already made an appearance on my facebook page a week or so ago, but I think it needs to be here as well.  I think it is a classic I’ll always want to remember no?!]

2.  Here comes trouble.

He is quite literally in to everything.  I love having a rough and tumble little boy in the house again.  Love it.  But man he keeps me hoppin.  There isn’t a moment that goes by that I don’t soak him in.  […]

1.  Bad news first?  Teagan’s ear drum burst Sunday night.  Through the tube.  He started complaining around bath time when it was time to put his ear plugs in.  By the time his bath was over he was a screaming mess.  He’s not a complainer (sounds like a good thing but it really is not, it’s hard to tell when something is going wrong when he doesn’t complain).  We called our pedi who ok’d some ear drops and we gave him some motrin and put him to bed.  He woke up constantly until around midnight when he walked into our room with a smile and a “hey”….uhm, ok?!  Ear oozing, ear tube sitting just inside his earlobe.  UGH.  That hurts, […]

kite festival, our version | austin photographer

We had every intention of heading to the Zilker Kite Festival in Austin this weekend and the kids (especially Taryn) were super psyched about it.  Unfortunately, Teagan has had a rough weekend, we’ve had to increase his asthma meds and he’s still just not doing very well.  He scares me.  I feel like I’m constantly worrying, watching, listening, hovering….waiting.  For him to be sick.  And for him to be better.  Teagan’s breathing was pretty good this morning so we decided that instead of facing the crowds at Zilker, we’d stay closer to home just in case he took a turn for the worse.  Fighting the crowds and the traffic just didn’t sound like fun.  Instead we picked up some […]

I knew I wanted to make a collage of my iphone pics at the end of the year.  thank you Michelle Nicoloff for this post, it totally inspired me 🙂

these moments would have been missed.  gone before i grabbed my camera.  too lazy to get up and go get it.  little blurbs.  little glimpses.  of my people, my loves.  these are the moments in my mind, even more so than the properly exposed and processed ones.  imperfect, real.  i got my iphone in july.  i love it.  i love that it forces me to accept the imperfections.  i not only accept them, i embrace them.  and i forgive myself for it.  maybe that is why so many people are […]

tee-hee.

after my session this morning we ventured out (in the rain!) to the pumpkin patch with our good friends.  i must admit, we had a blast.  it was rainy and wet and much, much less stressful than last year (it was summertime hot, dusty and just horribly miserable).  last year after hearing 3 kids scream and complain for the hour drive there and back, jase and i swore it off with a “never, ever, ever again”.  i can’t remember if i blogged about it, it was ‘that’ bad.  much like seaworld.  and maybe it’s because we’ve all been cooped up with taryn’s broken arm then surgery recovery, i don’t […]

it only took me 4 year & 11 months

to print our wedding photos.  i should have done it a long time ago.  but in all honesty, i didn’t love them.  i love him.  the photos….eh.  after digging through hundreds of proofs and tweaking and editing and creative cropping, i can honestly say that I do love these.  and that is enough.  so….finally…..a wedding wall.  jason was somewhat shocked when he walked through the door today.  he put up the shelves but had no clue what was going on them.  and neither did i until i sat down to order.  i put 3 orders in my cart and deleted them one by one, trying to find the right combo of pics before i even thought ‘wedding’.    we thought we […]
