Her Outer Banks Bucket List

Over Christmas I asked my mom if there was anywhere on her bucket list that she had never been, but had always wanted to go.  She immediately answered “Outer Banks, North Carolina” without giving it a thought.  I immediately said, “let’s do it!”  So we started planning this stop and she flew in to meet us here.  We were here less than 30 minutes before we ventured out to the beach in search of shells.  We found a few keepers and I loved all the purple pieces so much.  I’m so happy to spend the next 8 days exploring with my favorite people!  Tomorrow we are taking a ferry out to Ocracoke Island!

My birth story, 45 years later

It’s my 45th birthday today and I received the most precious gift. As a long time birth photographer, I’ve captured the stories of so many births. But it wasn’t until recently that I realized I didn’t know much about my own. I asked my mom to write it out for me as a birthday gift this year. Instead, she audio recorded it in 3 parts, their fertility struggles, her pregnancy and my birth. All in her own words and it just means the world to me. 🥰 I was a miracle baby and a shocking surprise, so it’s a fun story. Thanks mom!

365 Project: Swinging by the bay

We ventured out to the bay tonight for a picnic dinner.  It was so nice to get out for a bit.  There were a few people in the park but everyone kept their distance and seemed just as happy as we were to be “out”.  These kids have been troopers about being quarantined.  It hasn’t been easy but being at my mom’s house with lots of space and a huge porch has helped SO much!

365 Project: Sleepover at Gee’s

When my mom built her beach house years ago, she envisioned sleepovers and little kid giggles drifting through the house. Tonight was the night. Jason painted the interior of our RV today and we are escaping the fumes with a sleepover. Z did not want me up in the loft at all. I finally suggested he climb up and snuggle with Jude. That worked, he cuddled up and went right to sleep. Jude loved every second of it. 🥰 If you’ve followed our instagram stories you know we’ve been having sleep issues. 🤞🏻 tonight goes ok!
