I love the way you say Momma with intensity, with urgency. “Daddy” is calm, “Taryn” is calm, “Ty” is calm, “Momma” is urgent. And loud. And funny.

I love the way you named your blankie “Mae”. You have no idea that Ty’s lovie when he was a baby was a dog named “Freckle Mae The Wonder Dog” or that when Taryn was born she renamed that dog “Mae Mae”. What are the odds you’d choose Mae for your lovie too with no encouragment.

About a week ago I was over reading Jodie Allens blog and found out she was heading to the beach the same time as us. Turns out we were going to be a few hours apart, but worked it out to meet in the middle and swap sessions on the beach. I was thrilled to get to meet her and have her photograph my family! As I finish up their order I wanted to come back and share a few more of Miss Inara’s first birthday session. You can see her sneak peek here. I’m going to start off this post with my favorite of the day….

She’s grown so much since I saw her last. I just can’t get over how much babies change that first year, it’s crazy! Some of my most favorite shots ever are the ones from her 6 month session loving on her momma. That is one thing that has not changed.

I absolutely love in-home, true lifestyle sessions. And this is one of my all time favorites. In fact, when I went in to pull images to blog from their session it was 27, yikes! Awesome family, filled with love and laughter, gracious enough to share a glimpse into their world with little old me….

I got to go hang out with little miss Inara this morning and capture her birthday photos. The last time I saw her she was 6 months old and oh my goodness she has grown and changed so much!! She’s so tall and her hair has gone from red to a little more blond. But she still very much the same happy little girl…..

Silly goose! And she had all sorts of new tricks to show me, clapping, waving, and let’s not forget walking!!

And not just walking, but running too. She’s pretty fast! I was super impressed! Happy Birthday big girl!

The other night when MC and her family came out for a round of family photos, I greated Jack through the car door. He lit up and said “take my pi-churs?”. When I said yes he lit up again, tucked his little chin in and looked up at me with his big pretty eyes and said “I smile for yew”….ah, the cuteness. So just he and I ran over to the field while MC and Jon got baby Tommy out of the car. Just a few quick resulting snaps of my happy, camera lovin’ little buddy….
