God called upon Alex Laynor last night. Many of you know his story as I shared it here some time ago. He fought a long, difficult battle. He did so with a heart filled with love, a positive attitude and an appreciation for life like no man I’ve ever known. He inspired so many people. I’m still amazed that on the day we met, one conversation, one real, raw, open, conversation in a parking lot in downtown Austin with Alex, about his life, his love for his wife, his children and his outlook, unequivocally changed who I am, the way I see my life and the choices I make. I pray that Danielle, Lexi and Austin and the rest of his family can find peace during this very difficult time. And may Alex rest in the arms of the Lord. He will be missed dearly by many.
With a heavy heart….

I remember sitting and reading the original blog post on this family – bawling by the time I got to the bottom of the post. May God comfort and hold tight this family as they deal with this unfathomable loss of a husband and father.
I remember reading about him- about his strength. Reading about him gave me strength (and inspiration) while my sister was recovering from her illness.
I am so sorry to hear of his passing :(. Lots and lots of thoughts going out to his family.

Oh, I am so sorry. I remember your posts about Alex and his family. How beautiful and full of life they look, even while Alex was in the fight of his life! Lyndsey, I will be praying for his family and yours during this difficult time. May God wrap his arms around all of you and help you through. Hopefully Alex is resting with the angels and at peace now.
Many of us who knew Alex have shared this with our friends. During this sad time it is so great to have something to look back on- to remind us of who Alex was and the love he has for his wife and children. Thank you for capturing him so beautifully!
Lyndsay, Thank you so much for the kind and amazing comforting words. I’m Alex’s father and we are still dealing with the incredible loss. We know how much he meant to us, but knowing what he meant to others and how much he affected others has some comforting value. I met you briefly, but have never been able to tell you how beautiful your pictures were and how absolutely beautiful the “I Am Alex” slideshow was and the heartfelt message it left.
