My session first thing this morning got rained out (boo) but I somehow managed to dodge the rain for my session schedule for tonight. First we went a little urban and then a quick drive later to my favorite field of wildflowers, a little country. sweet jane totally stole my heart this morning. like a big breath of fresh air, so bright, happy and curious. i’m feeling very blessed to get to watch her grow over the next year. jane is about to be a big sister and i’ll be capturing a year full of memories for her family, from the birth of their to new baby all the way to the first birthday. and i simply can’t wait.

I have been a working machine this weekend. I finished all the Louisiana mini sessions (those shares are coming soon once I hear back from everyone regarding their galleries) AND I finished proofing Jodie’s family beach session.

I am feeling a bit of pressure to post something really interesting after her well worded and thoughtful post when she shared our images. I don’t know if I’m super tired from a crazy long week or what….but this totally gave me a case of the giggles tonight. I had to come share. One of the tricks we photographers use to get kids to look into the black box of torture is by telling them there is something interesting in there. I’ve used everything from princesses to elmo to candy to airplanes to, well….whatever. And it usually works at least once to get some good eye contact. But every now and then I catch one of these “what the heck crazy lady, i don’t see nothin’ in there!” looks. All you photographers out there know what I’m talking about, you get them too…..

I absolutely loved this session, and when I went in to pick which photos to share here on the blog, I couldn’t narrow my faves down. So kick up your feet and get ready for a long post! Little Miss A is such a beauty. Her momma warned me that she’d be a bit shy for the camera so when I got to the location, we took it slow. 1. Tomorrow is Ty’s last day of elementary school ever. Yesterday we went to his end of 5th grade award ceremony and it was bittersweet. He got 5 awards including being voted as a “promise keeper” by his peers. The little kids and I went and had lunch with him before the awards and I got to meet Ty’s girlfriend. I was pleasantly surprised when she walked right up to the lunch table, put her hand out to shake mine and introduced herself. She sat across from me and we chatted, super sweet kid.
