crossing nervous fingers

After 2.5 weeks of not so much as a nibble, not even a phone call and zero showings of our house, yesterday was the day.  An agent showed up unannounced during naptime with buyers in tow.  I had to ask them to come back because Little T was napping and it was time for Ty to get off the bus (ok, and cause the house was a mess too).  An hour and a half after frantically cleaning the house, waking T and loading up the kids and the dog to go drive around the neighborhood, they came back.  Viewed the house for around 20 minutes.  Yay, our first showing. Much to our surprise, we got an offer this morning.  A […]

It’s official!

Our house is on the market! We signed the listing agreement on Saturday, the sign went up yesterday and I just checked the MLS to see us in there!  It’s listed well below the value so maybe that will spark some interest, we can hope right?  I just keep reminding myself that all it takes is one person to buy it.  We just need the right person to come see it.  Come on bloggers, send us some sell vibes!!

you guessed it….

even more house pics….sorry, I know you guys must be getting tired of them by now! Sigh….my photo wall is gone 🙁 the view when you walk through the front door – we have a raised foyer – see our new fireplace??  We have a pretty wood carving to go above it with two candles… here is a pic of the old fireplace, the new one looks so much nicer but man was it an unexpected expense!  We found out during reconstruction that our fireplace was bent in the middle from handling 195 mph wind for hours on end…. the dining room (it’s on the opposite side of the den in the addition the previous owners added to the house) […]

Are you guys sick of me talking about house stuff yet??  I’m sure the answer is yes!  We are so tired of being consumed by it too.  We’ve been working non-stop to get the house ready to show.  So many little details that sneak up on you, like the sudden necessity to iron 22 sheers for the house.  We’re at the point where the last bit of mess tends to rotate from room to room.  Our long list of things to do is down to one page at least!  I can’t wait until it’s 100% done, all this work and morning sickness just don’t mix. Here is what we are calling the "Mock Nursery".  We decided to clean this room […]

701 days

2007-07-31T13:10:42-05:00July 31st, 2007|Uncategorized|

701 days of worry. 701 days of work. 701 days of stress. She changed our lives in ways we never imagined.  We went through a lot in our first year of marriage, a new baby, Ty’s adoption, Katrina stole everything but our health, thankfully we have that.  Thankfully, we were young and able.  Able to rebuild.  Able to find the strength in our marriage to make it through.  Able to lean on one another when we needed to.  Able to put on a brave face for the sake of our children when they needed it. We’re done.  The house is done.  No more construction, no more working into the night or having people working in our home.  No more living […]

I bet…

…my laundry is cuter than yours 😉 Dare I say it???  Here goes…..the house is almost done!  WAHOO!  The days of having a construction crew in my house are DONE.  We have one guy here today finishing up a few small things and that’s it!  After having so many people in our home for over the last month, all while suffering morning sickness and chasing two other kids, this is a HUGE relief for me.  I get my house back.  Whew. Granted, the place is trashed, so dusty and grimy from all the work.  We have a very long list, about 2 full pages, of things to be done this week before the house goes on the market.  Everything from […]
