I know it can be a total pain in the butt when I ask my clients to get up reallllllly early in the morning in an effort to “catch the good light”.  I always appreciate it when they humor me.  This beautiful couple was more than happy to meet just after dawn as the dad-to-be was headed out for one last camping with the guys weekend before baby comes just as soon as we were done!  Motivation!

I must confess that I thought of this mom-to-be enjoying a quiet weekend with her feet propped up, relaxing, reading when I walked into my crazy house after their session….screaming kids, diapers to be changed, toddlers to wrestle, sippy cups to fill.  I was a little envious in that moment.  I don’t even remember what all those things feel like!  LOL!  Its such an amazing thing to be right on the cusp of change like this sweet couple is…..

This post is why I aim for those early morning hours…..light….sweet, perfect, beautiful, light.  Oh I wish I could bottle it up and unleash it at my whim.

I’m pretty sure I sounded like a blubbering idiot as I gushed over the light that morning….

M, you look so beautiful pregnant!  Thanks to you both for getting up so early!  I can’t wait to see you again in just a few weeks and meet your new little one 🙂

ETA:  This was a mini session…..did you know you can add on a mini maternity session when you book a newborn session?  It’s a great way to document your pregnancy without the need of 25-30 images that a full session produces.  Especially when you are about to fill your walls with images of your new bundle of joy!  If you would like more info on adding a mini maternity to a newborn session, just email me for details!
