Upper Antelope Canyon

Upper Antelope Canyon was a dream today. Get ready for an obscene amount of oversharing. Oh, and let’s pretend Taryn doesn’t look taller than me here ok?

This place, it changes you. I was so overwhelmed midway through I teared up. It’s completely indescribable. And I’ve never felt so inadequate as a photographer. This place has a soul and it feels impossible to tell the story with a lens.

The town that feels like the Cars movie: Williams, Arizona

This guy and I went on a date last night. For the first time in over a year, just the two of us. We walked down old Route 66, took in the old neon lights and sites. We held hands and he opened doors for me. I took a few photos and we meandered the fun shops. It’s was perfect. Slowly but surely I’m finding myself pulling myself out and doing “normal” things that felt overwhelming and hard after the trauma. Tonight was fun and it felt so good to feel that again.

The Disney movie Cars was modeled after this cute little town in […]

Grand Canyon National Park

It’s big.

Jason has been talking about taking a trip to the Grand Canyon since we first met. It was really cool to see his dream come true today. This is one of the adventures he’s really been looking forward to and was high on his bucket list.

Keeping it real here. Our morning was filled with a bunch of different PTSD triggers. The weather was rough including 50 MPH wind gusts all day long (gosh that takes so much out of all of us). And Zachary only wanted to run everywhere and cried a lot of the day. Traveling with kids can throw some curve […]

Swimming in Williams, Arizona

Our first stop in Williams, Arizona was the campground pool!  We taught Jonah the pure joy of shooting water through a pool noodle by blowing on one end. He thought it was hilarious and giggled so much. I loved watching him enjoy something so simple. And I love his big belly laughs.

Hot tubs are the closest we get to a bath tub living fulltime in an RV. And boy do we miss our big bath tub! So when we find a good hot tub, without age restrictions, we flock to it and stay awhile.

Meteor Crater

We spent the day at Meteor Crater in Arizona. It was huge! See that little climbing Jonah down there? That’s why Jason stuffed him in the toddler Tula (he’s 1 lb under the weight limit lol) for the rim tour we did. Good practice for the Grand Canyon!

This guy loves science and figuring things out (just like his dad). He really enjoyed learning all about the meteor and crater. It’s like a light turns on when something grabs his interest and it’s so much fun to watch!

I’m so glad we were able to take our time […]
