I had to wake him up because we had friends over and I didn’t want him to miss out on playing with the other 6 kids. He’d been waiting on his friends all day. Any time I have to wake him up it always turns in to a photoshoot.

Also, freaking genetics. Jason, Jude and Jonah all sleep with their hands and elbows up.

You know who Erin Hensley is right? If not, you should look her up, amazing! Anyway, she does monthly challenges for capturing different kinds of light. This months challenge is quiet light. I’m so drawn to this challenge. With 4 kids ages 18-3, quiet can be….hard to see at times. It’s much easier to spot the chaos. I had to seek it out today (outside of the house and away from the 3 boys). Quiet light…..it’s all about photographing what something feels like, instead of only what it looks like. I love that part of photography, it totally draws me in.

My 365 Project in 2015 produced so many wonderful memories for my family.  There’s no way I can stop in 2016.  While the images are imperfect, the moments are not.  And I’m so thankful for each and every one.  So here’s to a new year of every day moments.  I’m calling this one my 366ish Project 😉

365

The finish line of this project. And I’m cheating a bit. This is an iphone pic. Jase and I took the night away (with no work or camera!) to ring in the new year. This project ended up being 365(ish) but I’m super proud of myself for mostly keeping up with it through a rough year. It really motivated me and kept me going to photograph my own family daily. I’m starting a new 366(ish) for 2016!!

We had a wonderful time at the W Hotel. It was the perfect way to see 2015 end. 2015 brought a lot of loss and tears, we lost Jason’s grandpa, our dog […]
