It’s spring and I was ready for a change. I loved my old banner because it had both kids on it. It’s been soooooooo hard for me to integrate two children with a huge age gap into a banner. But the old one was kind of dark, and I need a change, a happy, lighter change.
Of course there is the mommy guilt that the new one only includes Taryn and not Ty. But you know what? It’s too hard to keep both of them up there all the time, so I’m just going to swap them out at whim. Ty will be featured on the next banner 🙂 Not that he wants to be on the banner, but this is about my guilt and not what he wants right?! Did anyone even follow all of that?
In the meantime, whatchathink about little miss T and her lip? LOL! Gotta love the hat too! Well, she doesn’t, she hates it, this was one of two shots I got out of 25. The other 23 were action shots of her tearing it off of her head and throwing it as hard as she could while she glared at me! And y’all think my kids are easy to photograph – humph!

I like it….but I’ll miss the old one. But then I do have one very similar hanging in my “gallery”.
Change is fun….go for it! The hat is adorable and so is the sweetie-pie under it! I got to see a display of a little “tude” today after we had been shopping for several hours….but she was really a good girl 99% of the time! I’m lovin our Thursdays together!
OK, I am still seeing the old banner with Ty standing in front of the 4 panels… maybe my computer just isn’t loading the new one.
I don’t know if I’ve commented on here before but I’ve been a dedicated reader for months, and I even went back through and read your archives! Your kids are gorgeous. You’ve been through so much yet you have an amazing outlook and perspective.
I have a D50 and I play with it… I say play because, I don’t know what I’m doing! I use a lot of the pictures you post as inspiration for me 🙂 I just posted 3 of my baby girl’s first birthday pictures on my blog and I’d love your opinion on them if you don’t mind. I haven’t photoshopped them or anything so I’m not sure what to do with them! Thanks 🙂

I’m lovin’ all of Taryn’s new clothes and accessories! The hat is too cute:) I love the banner. It’s seems a little big to me, but I think it looks good; I just have to get used to the larger size.
I loved the old banner but I know what you mean about wanting change for spring.
I’ve been rearranging the furniture in our house in an attempt to satisfy my need for change/new things. Sounds crazy but changing up some of the old stuff helps curb my cravings for new things.

I followed it completely. : ) It’s okay to swap the photos on your whim. It’s your blog! If your older kid really wants his own stuff, you could always add a page for him and he could put up his own stuff. Then *poof* no more guilt AND you’ve taught him how to upload his pictures and create something cool!

I really like the emotion captured in the third one, maybe you could crop it to a 4×8 size to get rid of some of the background? So cute – aren’t 1st birthday’s fun? Lisa – I used to rearrange furniture all the time when it was just me and Ty. Somehow Jason has managed to break me of the habit, but I still get the urge during spring time, rearranging stuff just helps things look clean! lol
Julie & Yvonne – thanks so much! Yvonne – the green is a wall in our bedroom. We have all blue and green walls, which I love for photographing. I fear my husband will someday tire of those colors and then what will I do??? Taryn was sitting on our bed for this shot. I had to bribe her by letting her hold my PTA badge, which worked for .2 seconds 🙂
Devra – thanks for posting – I just checked out your blog. I’m going to have to pick up a copy of your book, I can always use some good advice to relieve mommy guilt!! 🙂 I have often thought of doing a “sub” blog for Ty, I think we might venture into it once summer gets here and we have a homework reprieve!

The new header is really striking, I just want to keep looking at it! I saw it this morning and liked it, now I’m back for round 2 and I like it even more!
I love the banner. I think it is an adorable picture and I love the colors & T’s dress. However, it is pretty big. I have a 19″ monitor and it takes up more than half the screen.
LOVING the hat … and the new banner is cute … I can’t imagine that you’re able to say no to Taryn when she sticks out her lip! She’s toooo cute!
