First day of school. A little bittersweet. This summer was amazing. We were focused on family, relaxed, we played and enjoyed one another. It was exactly what we needed after last summer being a trip to hell and back with Teagan’s vaccine reaction. We really did have a wonderful summer and I am going to miss these days so much. I also crave the schedule and structure that school brings. They are ready. I’ll be honest though, I loved having a big block of time where I could breathe easy and know that I was the only one feeding my kids, good, quality, allergy safe, food. School brings a whole other set of worries in that regard and I absolutely hate it. Thankfully, Taryn was placed with the teacher we requested and she is A-MAZING. Exactly what my sweet T needs to pull her out of her shy shell and she’s very experienced with food allergies. I’ll admit I begged for a good recommendation for a teacher from the school nurse at the end of last year and boy, am I glad I did!
I had to go and pull their first day photo from last year, just to compare, Taryn in Kindergarten and Ty in 7th grade. Wow, what a difference a year makes! They have both grown and changed so much! 2010 on the right, 2011 on the left….
ps – If a blubbering idiot posts on the blog tomorrow with photos of one certain little duder on his very first day of school ever, that’s me. Yes, we made the HUGE decision to put him in pre-k! His immune system is finally strong enough, he’s healthy and strong and READY! Oh boy is he ready!! His momma, on the other hand, is a complete mess. You may not recognize her tomorrow. That’s your fair warning.
I have been waiting all day for this! Ty looks so different…I swear I didn’t know he was heavy before but he looks amazing now! Taryn looks happy and excited. Hope they both have a wonderful school year!
I’ll be blubbering with you! My 3 year old starts pre-k next Monday, which is the same day and time as my teacher in-service. 🙁 I called my boss and he agreed I could be 20 minutes late, but the last thing I want to do on my baby’s first ever day of school is drop and run! Ty’s gotten so smal
Wow! They look great and Ty is so grown up. Can’t wait to hear how Teagan’s first day in preschool goes. Another reminder of how far you’ve come in the past year!
