Going fishing with 4 kids in tow is a lot of work. One line would get tangled and as soon as he untangled it, a line would get stuck in the rocks, or a tree or someone hooked their own butt while casting. He didn’t rest a single second the entire time. But the kids loved it and can’t wait to go again. Thankfully this stocked pond is just steps from our door.

Jude and I snuck out today and picked up a new Cars fishing pole for Z (head up to my stories to see Zachary’s “woooow” reaction lol). He loves being like the big kids and wanted to do everything himself. […]

T and Z

I don’t know that I’ve ever met two people that are more alike than these two. It shocks Jason and I daily. The way Z acts, the way he looks, the way he sounds, what he says, even his laugh is the exact same as hers was at this age. It’s interesting to watch them together because she gets so flustered by some of the things she herself used to do. Other parents say things like “I hope you have a kid that acts just like you someday!” We had Z and get to see Taryn deal with a tiny, opinionated, version of herself daily and I can’t lie, it’s satisfying and […]

365 Project: Swinging by the bay

We ventured out to the bay tonight for a picnic dinner.  It was so nice to get out for a bit.  There were a few people in the park but everyone kept their distance and seemed just as happy as we were to be “out”.  These kids have been troopers about being quarantined.  It hasn’t been easy but being at my mom’s house with lots of space and a huge porch has helped SO much!

365 Project: In Memory

In memory of Sophie, Aaron & Buddy. This morning Jude burst in the RV devastated to have found all 3 birds deceased. I don’t know that I will ever forget the broken look of devastation on his face. These kids poured their entire life in to these birds over the last 2 weeks, researching, caring for and loving them. They went from very frail and sick to thriving, learning to hunt on their own and fly. We were so close to being ready to release them. We aren’t exactly sure why they passed, but our best guess is the new live food or supplement – both started yesterday. Now we are navigating […]
