While the gulf coast beach is just a few miles away, it is closed. We are super thankful to have the bay just steps away at the end of the street. This is a private beach for my mom’s tiny little neighborhood and there is rarely anyone ever there. We are loving the free space and fresh air!
My bird nerds rescued some babies. There are multiple nests in my moms yard and they noticed the parents of these chics stopped coming to the nest. We believe the mother was eaten by a hawk living one tree over and the dad stopped coming shortly thereafter. We waited and watched and they weren’t doing well at all when the kids intervened. It was a porch swing, pina coladas (virgin for the kids) and fajitas on the grill kind of night.
It’s that time! Back to roadschool! We work on a different schedule than the typical school system. It works for us. And we are SO ready! It was a nice long 4 month break. Everyone is excited and motivated – that helps a lot! This year we started Jonah on the same online program as the big kids and he absolutely loves it! I’m relieved to get us started and in a routine before Jason’s first day at his new job.
Follow along as we visit Acadia National Park after a long month of sitting still due to Jonah’s broken arm. We visit Cadillac Mountain, attend a Ranger Hawk Watch and walk across Bar Island in Bar Harbor, Maine.

He stood in this spot looking out for a good long while. I finally got up and grabbed my camera to snap a few. Once I got close I asked him, “Z what do you see?”
“AHHH! I SEE A SISSY!!!!”
