While we have had a pretty traditional kitchen for over 12 years, I didn’t dive in to gluten free sourdough until late last year.  And then I got hurt.  Taryn and Jason took over care of our “dough baby” as Jason lovingly called it.  We use it almost daily, replacing many store bought products.  Gluten free varieties tend to be filled with equally hard to digest ingredients so I was very happy to get rid of a lot of what we were purchasing.  There are so many benefits to eating sourdough! Because it’s fermented, it’s easier to digest and the nutrients are more readily absorbed.  Acquiring more of these essential nutrients […]

if Maggie could talk

If Maggie could talk:  “Heard you were thinking of leaving….if I sit on you, you’ll stay!”

Today was a big day for Taryn, she started the application process for an apprenticeship that would be an incredible opportunity for her.  It’s very competitive and a long shot, but we are so proud of her for taking a big leap toward her future dreams!  As soon as she started talking about living somewhere else next summer, Mags jumped up interrupting her application rough draft.

jonah and his sticks

Jonah and his sticks.  A few days ago I came across a photo in my archives of Jonah carrying a stick around before his 2nd birthday on a cabin camping vacation we took.  It made me smile because then I didn’t know how much sticks would become a part of his life and childhood.  When we were launching in to fulltime travel and purging our home, we started getting rid of things.  One of the last things to go was basket of toys up on top of our fridge known at “toy jail”.  It just so happened most of the toys up there could be used as a weapon (nerf, light sabers, […]

WCA Cubing Nationals day 4

2023-07-31T13:32:08-05:00July 31st, 2023|365 Project - 2023, 365 Projects, My Family, Zachary|

WCA Cubing Nationals day 4. Zachary and I stayed home and watched the live stream. I was in pain and Z was fried from 3 long 12 hour days. He’d normally sit with friends and speed stack some cups or work on learning to cube but his broken arm put a damper on both. Plus he needed to stay home and snack today 😂 Jude had 3×3 second round and then after that it was all hanging out with friends until finals and awards tonight. Congrats to

WCA Cubing Nationals 2023 day 3

2023-07-31T13:23:46-05:00July 31st, 2023|365 Project - 2023, 365 Projects, Jonah, My Family|

WCA Cubing Nationals 2023 day 3! It was finally Jonah’s turn to compete! He qualified for 4 events but only signed up for 2 as we missed the cutoff date. He did so well and hit his main goal of solving his 3×3 in sun 19 seconds! He was pretty excited! And it was a new PR (personal record). He even solved on the big stage in front of a huge crowd that had gathered to see Max Park. Jonah has nerves of steel, […]
