CURRENTLY WANDERING

Hi!  We are a God loving family: Jason, Lyndsay, Ty, Taryn, Jude, Jonah and Zachary. In 2017 we sold our 2,400 square home in Leander, Texas, along with most of our belongings and bought a 400 square foot fifth wheel RV to hit the road and travel full time with 4 of our 5 kids and 2 dogs (Maggie and Pepper). We longed for a more simple life with less stuff and more adventure.  Our goal is to eventually visit all 50 states!  Our bucket list is long and we love adventure, hiking and national parks!  Lyndsay is a professional family travel photographer and loves capturing all their family adventures.  We hope you’ll follow along on our journey!

WHERE TO NEXT?

We left Texas late 2017 and went to Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. In 2018 we hit the southwest, west coast and pacific northwest before looping back down to Texas for the fall and winter. In 2019 we meandered up the east coast, jumping up to Michigan and across to Maine before heading back to Texas for winter.  2020 landed us quarantining in Alabama before heading out Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.  Winter in 2020 took us to Texas, Alabama and Florida, including the Keys.  2021 we hopped around the east coast.  2022 was spent in Utah, Oregon, and Washington before we did the “wiggle down the middle” through the midwest.  We visited our 48th state in early 2023!  We spent 2023 on the East coast including Pennsylvania, Maine, Massachusetts and North Carolina.  2024 brought us back to the west, Taryn graduated high school in Moab, was an extra on The Chosen TV series and we spent our summer in Colorado where she was an intern learning how to farm.  In 2025 we are headed to Washington state to serve the church.

Eggstravaganza!

My mom had her annual Easter egg hunt yesterday and it was a blast!!!! Here is one of the invites we did this year =) They were a hit, all the kids loved getting mail. Tons of food, games, crafts, an egg hunt, a great big prize table and of course a visit from our favorite bunny!! I have a TON of pics to proof but have to proof a few client sessions first. These will be a blast to go through though, so much fun stuff! So here they are, 9 of the 11 grandchildren, the Gee Gee & the bunny…. Thanks Gee Gee for another great Easter egg hunt!!! I hope everyone has a safe and happy Easter, […]

when the wind blows

You guys wonna hear a good mommy moment? I’m one of the room moms for Ty’s class so Taryn and I went up to the school on Thursday to help with the class easter egg hunt and party (which was a blast by the way)! Afterwards, Ty just came home with us. We get in the car and he tells me “Mom, I just had the best day today!”. “Yeah, the party was fun huh?”. To which he says, “Yeah, the party was great, but do you know why I had such a good today? It’s because at recess I was playing on the swings and the wind was blowing the right way. I looooove that, when the wind blows […]

More Ethan…

I am loving the location for this shoot, it was the first time I’d been there, but I will definately be using it again! It was so different from what I normally do and I’m just loving the black and whites…

did you know?

that it takes 20 minutes to clean red finger paint out of the INSIDE of a toddler’s nose?  i knew it was on the outside, but I must have looked away one too many times LOL.  It was kind of like trying to bath an octopus.  I love my life.

ON

Our house has been nuts. Ty has been punished, first, he got written up a school for being mean in class, then he brought home a report card filled with C’s. Coming from my all A’s with a B here and there child, we’re not happy about it at all. This year has been tough. I’m ready for summer. I need a break from homework and the drama. Ty’s been bouncing off the wall being punished, but he did get to go to datenight with my mom today, hopefully it did him some good. He gets out of school for a week starting Friday for spring break. I can’t wait to spend some good quality time with him. I’ve got […]

Amy’s Dylan

Do you guys remember a few weeks ago that I had a local girl named Amy accompany me on a session to assist? She also took some great pics that day and did a great job as a second shooter, I’ll have to post some of them soon, she captured some good stuff. I’ve asked her if she wants to do another shoot with me later this month but yesterday her and her cutie patooty little boy Dylan came over for a photography playdate. It was so fun to sit around and talk about photography all day long, because let’s face it, unless you love it as much as we do, people get bored talking about it so much. I […]

challenge, the choice to change

Have you ever be aware of something, without truly having a complete understanding of it? I am aware of the fact that I don’t like having my picture taken. I know this, it’s not a surprise to me. Yet this week, I wanted to find a few family photographs to add to a project I’m working on. I had hundreds of client images saved to a folder, just for this project, that part was easy. But I spent over 3 hours digging through personal images. I dug and dug, I have only a handful of photographs of jason with the kids, and less than 3 of me. This makes me so sad, here I take all these photographs of clients, […]

a new look

Be honest. What do you think? It’s spring and I was ready for a change. I loved my old banner because it had both kids on it. It’s been soooooooo hard for me to integrate two children with a huge age gap into a banner. But the old one was kind of dark, and I need a change, a happy, lighter change. Of course there is the mommy guilt that the new one only includes Taryn and not Ty. But you know what? It’s too hard to keep both of them up there all the time, so I’m just going to swap them out at whim. Ty will be featured on the next banner 🙂 Not that he wants to […]

you know what grandma’s are good at?

Buying pretty party dresses even if you don’t have a party to go to! And to think she helped me clean house in this dress! I managed to catch these in all of about 5 minutes before she started telling me no and jutting out that bottom lip. Little stinker. I’m learning to be quick at least! Now if I could just pry the tea set that has been in our family for years out of my mom’s hands, then poor little miss Taryn would have a party to go to! (Hint Hint Gee-Gee)!! Playing peek-a-boo with the kitty… And my favorite….I love the way she giggles!! She was laughing at our cat who was doing nothing more than walking […]

I don’t know about you guys, but after 2 days of downer blog posts, I need a little pick me up. This totally cheers me up….capturing drool from the lip progressing right on down to the floor – lol! Dad’s expressions totally crack me up!!! He looks so proud in #4 but the last one is by far my favorite!!
