CURRENTLY WANDERING

Hi!  We are a God loving family: Jason, Lyndsay, Ty, Taryn, Jude, Jonah and Zachary. In 2017 we sold our 2,400 square home in Leander, Texas, along with most of our belongings and bought a 400 square foot fifth wheel RV to hit the road and travel full time with 4 of our 5 kids and 2 dogs (Maggie and Pepper). We longed for a more simple life with less stuff and more adventure.  Our goal is to eventually visit all 50 states!  Our bucket list is long and we love adventure, hiking and national parks!  Lyndsay is a professional family travel photographer and loves capturing all their family adventures.  We hope you’ll follow along on our journey!

WHERE TO NEXT?

We left Texas late 2017 and went to Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. In 2018 we hit the southwest, west coast and pacific northwest before looping back down to Texas for the fall and winter. In 2019 we meandered up the east coast, jumping up to Michigan and across to Maine before heading back to Texas for winter.  2020 landed us quarantining in Alabama before heading out Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.  Winter in 2020 took us to Texas, Alabama and Florida, including the Keys.  2021 we hopped around the east coast.  2022 was spent in Utah, Oregon, and Washington before we did the “wiggle down the middle” through the midwest.  We visited our 48th state in early 2023!  We spent 2023 on the East coast including Pennsylvania, Maine, Massachusetts and North Carolina.  2024 brought us back to the west, Taryn graduated high school in Moab, was an extra on The Chosen TV series and we spent our summer in Colorado where she was an intern learning how to farm.  In 2025 we are headed to Washington state to serve the church.

my boys…again

I just love them. I can’t wait to proof the rest of this series.  For me, they are heartwarming and oh so funny.  More photos coming, and some out takes.  I can’t wait to show you what their shirts say 😉

missing the gee

Again, just like that, her visit went by way too fast.  So sad to see her go.   We’re already counting down the days to her next visit.  Mother’s Day is a long 77 days away, just in case you were wondering. Not only do we miss the Gee in all her Gee-Gee glory, but also her extra set of hands.  Thanks  Mom for all your help, chasing the kids, helping us, the housework, the laundry, the picnic with Little T, having lunch with Ty at school and always being ready and willing to do any little thing for us or the baby.  It was immediately apparent what having an extra set of hands meant to us as soon as you […]

a quickie

A photo for today…Little T.  Yes, I still take pics of her 😉 Gee-Gee leaves tomorrow.  So sad.

inspired

My mom surprised us with a gorgeous set of blankets she made for Teagan.  As soon as I saw them, they immediately reminded me of these inspiring shots by the amazing Amy Coffey.  If you guys haven’t seen her work, you gotta check her out! So once Teagan landed into his afternoon milk coma, my mom and I got to work taking a few shots…the first one is my fave.  We spotted him on ultrasound hanging out in the womb with his hands like this on his head…

scary

No photo post today.  No time or energy to pick up the camera.  Last night at around 11 pm I was feeding Teagan.  When he was done nursing, I sat him up to burp him and he started to choke.  He recovered quickly, but afterwards his breathing was irregular.  He couldn’t catch his breath, he was struggling and it scared us to death.  He’s fine, and thankfully we received instructions from the NICU nurses on what to do if this sort of thing happens at home.  But, I did what any mother would do, I stayed up all night staring at him to make sure he was breathing.  He had a doctor’s appointment first thing this morning, and he’s doing […]

mixed emotions

Taryn is a little less than thrilled about her new baby brother.  She’s adjusting.  Slowly.  She takes baby steps every day.  I think more than anything it scares her when he cries.  Two things she will do, give him a quick kiss on the head every now and then and tickle his feet.  Overall though, she’s not that impressed just yet. So tonight when I asked her if she wanted to hold him and she said yes, I was a little surprised.  Everyone in the house came running and gathered around to see and praise her.  She did really well, and I think these images capture her true feelings….. This is how we wish she would feel about her new […]

missing daddy

Today was Jason’s first day back at work since Teagan was born.  I missed having him home like crazy.  He takes such good care of us.  And I know it was so hard for him to leave us this morning and be gone all day.  Thankfully, my mom will be here for the rest of the week to help out.  After that, it’s just me during the day with the kids.  I’m a little nervous about that, there is a lot more to being a mother of 3 than a mother of 2 when one of the 3 is a toddler. Teagan spent his day nursing, and then nursing some more.  He’s an eater!  He also did a little sunbathing […]

funny baby

It was a little weird pulling out the backdrop the other day, just because I seldom do the traditional stuff anymore, especially at home!  But something about a naked baby cries out for a simple backdrop and I figured I’d do it while my mom is here and able to help me set up the equipment, etc.  I must admit, that as much as I love these, I’m still drawn to the more casual, at home, real life shots….so many more of those coming soon! And a rare occurrence, me in front of the camera.  Jase caught this one of Teagan and I… Teagan looks so tiny in Jason’s hands As I was taking the shot of his little feet […]

put him away?

We normally put Teagan in his bouncer while we have dinner but last night I was sitting at the dinner table eating and holding Teagun.  Taryn looked over at me and said "Mommy, are you going to put him away?"  hehehe….it took us a minute to figure out what she meant!  And later on when Teagan was crying she said "bring him the boppy, it make him feel better"….LOL!  I guess that would make sense since most of the time he is crying its because he wants to be fed and that includes the boppy.  She’s still adjusting to having a newborn in the house, it’s been harder than we thought it would be.  I think because Jason and I […]

I’ve always wondered…

if Taryn’s baby bed from Pottery Barn would fit a real live newborn.  He fit in there perfectly and even had some extra room down by his little feet, but he kept inching up.

thank you, grandma

Thank you for dropping everything to come take care of Ty & Taryn while we were having Teagan.  Thanks for staying so long, for carting the kids all over the place as needed, for making countless trips back and forth to the hospital, for picking up my mom at the airport, for fixing meals, for taking the time off work and being such a big help.  We’re sure Grandpa is thrilled to have you back though!

at 5 days old

I remember both Ty and Taryn being cross eyed at 5 days old.  You know, that, "did you get the number off of that truck" confused look.  But not Mr. Teagan…..its like he knows his mommy is a photographer.  Check out the eye contact!  Way to go buddy! I just love him so much! A couple people have asked how Taryn and Ty are doing.  Ty is doing great, he loooooves babies and wishes we’d have 10 more just so he could cuddle them up.  It’s funny, because we know that once Ty is holding the baby, it’s going to be hard to get him back.  It just makes me love Ty even more, he glows around the baby. Taryn […]

a bear hug

We are off to another dr visit for Teagan this morning.  He had his NICU follow up yesterday and his billirubin numbers came back high.  They went from 6.2 in the hospital to 14.5 yesterday….so we’re getting them checked again today.  Too bad its not sunny here or he could do some naked sunbathing in the window.

my little valentine

A day late, but we’ve been a little busy 😉 A huge thanks to our friend Jill for bringing us this rug that I have been searching for high and low!
