Did you know that Great Smokey Mountains National Park has more visitors per year than any other national park in the US? It’s big! We are focusing on the North Carolina portion this stay with the intention of seeing the Tennessee side during a different stay. The areas we saw today were really beautiful.

That’s life with kids on the road

Today wasn’t our easiest adventure day. Zachary was in a mood and honestly, just really miserable. We ended up throwing in the towel and decided to head home early. We didn’t get to see and do everything we wanted, but, that’s life with kids on the road. We’ve learned when to push through and when to give up. With the time change we may be able to sneak in a few adventures after work this week. Yay for longer days and more sunshine!!

RVing in Florida for the winter

Oh, Florida.

Our last adventure in Florida this year was a stop at the Cape Canaveral National Seashore. It was a little cold but that didn’t stop these two from getting wet and jumping waves one bit. After the space center on Saturday it felt good to get some fresh air, put our feet in the sand and relax in nature.

We’ve been Rving in the winter in Florida 3 times in the last 3+ years and this year it was a whole new experience! We made a Florida bucket list and hit every thing on it but one. The last 2 months brought us to the Everglades, the Keys, a turtle hospital, the […]

Visiting Kennedy Space Center during Covid

2021-04-03T16:04:35-05:00February 22nd, 2021|My Family, Jonah, Jude, RV Life, Taryn, Zachary|

This weekend was so busy I’m still catching my breath! As our Christmas gift, Jason’s parents gave us an adventure and we chose Kennedy Space Center. We are so thankful, we had a blast!!

My kids were so excited to explore the grounds and the rocket garden before we ever even entered a single exhibit. Kennedy Space Center is is very well done.  Getting to see the space shuttle Atlantis was a highlight! We’ve seen the Discovery at Udvar Hazy in Washington DC too. The cool thing about Atlantic is that it’s suspended between several floors. We were able to walk right up next […]

Night Viewing of Space X Falcon 9 launch

2021-04-03T16:14:36-05:00February 16th, 2021|RV Life, Roadschool|

Tonight we drove over to Titusville to view the Space X Falcon 9 launch and it was AMAZING! The launch didn’t start until almost 11 pm but the kids did so great after a rough day today. It took a ton of research to figure out where to catch a night launch since most of the parks and best viewing spots are closed this time of night. But some locals sent us to the perfect spot!

We tried going to Space View Park in Titusville. It was easy parking and a short walk to the viewing seats but the view was blocked by fencing, flag poles and a huge crane. There was one […]
