the real gift

Taryn got her first phone on her 18th birthday. The real gift, 18 years and a childhood without one.

It was so fun watching her enjoy it, text her best friend, meme wars, family group texts and taking photos of the sunset.

FWIW, we don’t technically have a wait until 18 rule in our home. They get one when they need one and each child is different. I’m just so thankful we’ve built a life that gives us the option to wait.

Taryn is 18

Our beautiful daughter turned 18 yesterday. It really is so shocking how quickly time passes. I’m so proud her. She’s unapologetically herself, she’s smart, strong feisty and creative. My husband once described her as a mall pretzel, salty and crusty on the outside and soft on the inside and that’s so very true 😂 I love her soft, sensitive heart so much. I can count on one hand the number of times we’ve argued. Taryn is our resident little old lady. She loves her tea, crochet, reading, dog snuggles, quiet mornings with her bible, avoids noisy little boys and grumbles about all the things little old ladies do. 😂 I am truly […]

Zachary Kindergarten Graduation

Zachary is a kindergarten graduate! This kid learned so much this year and I can honestly say he loved every minute of it! No one is more eager to learn or excited to dive in! He’s very excited about his cap and gown and diploma. These photos are a little late because the same day he graduated, he also broke his first bone. We were just about to start his ceremony and party when we had to go to the ER. It was an eventful day for sure. As homeschoolers of over a decade we’ve never done kinder graduation but I was looking through photos a few months ago and found myself […]

Goodpops morning and night

2021-06-06T21:42:38-05:00June 6th, 2021|My Family, Jonah, RV Life, Zachary|

This morning when I got up I immediately noticed that Jonah looked really tired.  My mommy radar was going off and I asked if he was ok and resting well.  After a few minutes of asking him I got a confession out of Z.  These two have been getting up at 5 am to sneak a popsicle the last few mornings.  I’m glad they are bonding as new bunkmates but definitely not onboard with their new routine.  Evening popsicles though, I’m all in!  We love Goodpops!
