Before we left Texas we packed up all the boys toys.  We are moving really fast, every 3 days, to get where we need to be before Jason’s first day on the new job.  And we are just tired of picking them up all the time.  Zachary is in a phase where he drags everything out and throws things everywhere.  No toys has been glorious!  For several reasons….first less to clean.  Second, they are spending more time with our bin of books and reading.  Third, we have seen so much more imaginative play happening.  Their newest game is trying out for American Idol.  One of the 3 boys sits […]

365 Project: Back to roadschool

It’s that time!  Back to roadschool!  We work on a different schedule than the typical school system.  It works for us.  And we are SO ready!  It was a nice long 4 month break.  Everyone is excited and motivated – that helps a lot!  This year we started Jonah on the same online program as the big kids and he absolutely loves it!  I’m relieved to get us started and in a routine before Jason’s first day at his new job.

Jonah in a long arm cast

It has been a very long couple of days.  Thursday, we went back to Dell Children’s Hospital for Jonah’s follow up appointment.  The purpose of that appointment was to remove the large long arm plaster cast and move him over to a short arm fiberglass cast.  We’ve had concerns about the fit of the cast throughout, but were assured repeatedly it was fine.  When we arrived they removed it, did an x-ray and the PA assured us we could move him in to a brace.  We were concerned because his arm is still very visibly fractured on the x-rays.  She really felt like the brace was going […]
