national park wall art

New national park wall art in our toyhauler!  This print has been sitting in a box in my bedroom for months!  Our toyhauler renovation has been slow and one of the challenges in making a very mechanical, dark room cozy, is dealing with massive ugly vents on the wall.  Since we haul kids instead of vehicles or toys, we don’t need the vent to function.  It’s visible from the living room and kitchen so it’s a big eyesore.  I really wanted to cover it up but had the hardest time finding a frame the right size deep enough to cover the part that juts out from the wall.  Enter handy husband!  Jason built […]

time to adult

I was trying to take a photo of Taryn’s birthday sign, but Maggie stole the show.  No one tell her it’s time to adult.  We love that she still acts like a puppy at the ripe old age of 12.

ps – I have decided to go for trying another 365 project while attempting to recover from bilateral adhesive capsilitis.  It’ll be filled with more every day life in the RV, less travel destinations and I am offering myself a ton of flexabilty and grace to pick up the camera when it’s healthy to do so.

pps – Our mantel is filled with travel treasures we love so much.  Shells from the Pacific and […]

A new Project 365?

It’s been 6 months of bilateral adhesive capsulitis and I’m still in pain every day. I haven’t slept laying down or even in bed in 5 months. My mental health has suffered, the depression is back (but my cPTSD recovery has held strong praise God!). Being stuck inside and mostly immobile has taken a toll. My stamina is gone. I miss our life of adventure and hiking and exploring so very much. I miss capturing our lives with my camera. It’s something I’ve done for 18 years. Two weeks ago I tried to pick it up to take pictures of Z for kindergarten graduation. I needed help. It resulted in A LOT […]

the real gift

Taryn got her first phone on her 18th birthday. The real gift, 18 years and a childhood without one.

It was so fun watching her enjoy it, text her best friend, meme wars, family group texts and taking photos of the sunset.

FWIW, we don’t technically have a wait until 18 rule in our home. They get one when they need one and each child is different. I’m just so thankful we’ve built a life that gives us the option to wait.

Taryn is 18

Our beautiful daughter turned 18 yesterday. It really is so shocking how quickly time passes. I’m so proud her. She’s unapologetically herself, she’s smart, strong feisty and creative. My husband once described her as a mall pretzel, salty and crusty on the outside and soft on the inside and that’s so very true 😂 I love her soft, sensitive heart so much. I can count on one hand the number of times we’ve argued. Taryn is our resident little old lady. She loves her tea, crochet, reading, dog snuggles, quiet mornings with her bible, avoids noisy little boys and grumbles about all the things little old ladies do. 😂 I am truly […]
