CURRENTLY WANDERING

Hi!  We are a God loving family: Jason, Lyndsay, Ty, Taryn, Jude, Jonah and Zachary. In 2017 we sold our 2,400 square home in Leander, Texas, along with most of our belongings and bought a 400 square foot fifth wheel RV to hit the road and travel full time with 4 of our 5 kids and 2 dogs (Maggie and Pepper). We longed for a more simple life with less stuff and more adventure.  Our goal is to eventually visit all 50 states!  Our bucket list is long and we love adventure, hiking and national parks!  Lyndsay is a professional family travel photographer and loves capturing all their family adventures.  We hope you’ll follow along on our journey!

WHERE TO NEXT?

We left Texas late 2017 and went to Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. In 2018 we hit the southwest, west coast and pacific northwest before looping back down to Texas for the fall and winter. In 2019 we meandered up the east coast, jumping up to Michigan and across to Maine before heading back to Texas for winter.  2020 landed us quarantining in Alabama before heading out Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.  Winter in 2020 took us to Texas, Alabama and Florida, including the Keys.  2021 we hopped around the east coast.  2022 was spent in Utah, Oregon, and Washington before we did the “wiggle down the middle” through the midwest.  We visited our 48th state in early 2023!  We spent 2023 on the East coast including Pennsylvania, Maine, Massachusetts and North Carolina.  2024 brought us back to the west, Taryn graduated high school in Moab, was an extra on The Chosen TV series and we spent our summer in Colorado where she was an intern learning how to farm.  In 2025 we are headed to Washington state to serve the church.

pssssttt….click refresh…..decided it was time for a new look =)

tiny details

Just a few tiny details from yesterday…. And one very pretty, very proud, big sister!

triplets

So, "technically" I’m not working right now.  Buuuuuut, when you get a call with an opportunity to photograph newborn triplets, even if you’re not working and even if morning sickness is totally kicking your butt, the excitement takes over and you do it.  I am totally amazed by this family, 4 beautiful children, 3 of them tiny babies only a few weeks old and they have it all under control.  I promised a sneak peek and after browsing through them really quick, I think this is my favorite so far… Thank you to Jamie and Danny for inviting me into your home to photograph your beautiful family, it was an honor!

a date with the gee

My mom made plans with Taryn today to give me a little break.  Just the two of them, lunch and shopping and to say little T was EXCITED would be an understandment!!!  First thing this morning she wanted to get up and put on her dress to go bye-bye.  I managed to talk her into breakfast first =) Love this dress she got for her birthday! Even with her pretty dress on, I couldn’t talk her out of wearing her crocs.  That girl loves her crocs and there was just no winning the argument. my favorite, waiting on the gee-gee So excited – bye Mommy! Thanks for the fun date Gee and giving this mommy a much needed break!  Taryn […]

the tyler song

In case there was any doubt 🙂  The words go something like this…. "I love my tyler and my tyler loves me. My tyler, my tyler, my tyler, my tyler, I love my tyler and my tyler loves me." There is also a daddy version, a mommy version and a kylie (the dog) version. =) BIG MUCHI love it that Ty used to say this was little like Taryn and now she does it too.  Anyone else notice that Daddy get’s a little more "BIG MUCH!"?  Such a daddy’s girl….

the big island

As hurricane Flossie bears down we’re sending up prayers today for the Big Island of Hawaii.  And as if facing a hurricane coming your direction wasn’t enough, mother nature threw a little 5.4 magnitude earthquake their way this morning.  The Big Island is a place that is close to our hearts, we got married there almost 3 years ago.  I don’t think a day goes by that I don’t think about our time there, the beauty and the people.   We’re hoping everyone stays safe until mother nature settles down a bit!

Exhibit A

She really is good at being 2.  Food on her face and all =) Spent the weekend being totally useless.  Morning sickness feels neverending.  I feel unable to function, it’s so frustrating.  The seabands aren’t helping much.  Poor Jason, he’s been on constant daddy duty, house duty and taking care of that hormonal, green around the gills, lump on the couch that vaguely resembles his wife.

she’s my fabulous mess

It's been awhile since I've done this, a post dedicated to the (present) littlest member of our family.  Since I've [...]

a sneak peek

Thank you all for your wonderful comments and emails about the post below!  So cool and totally made my day.  I love the last two, they make me smile.  The last one is so unexpected, it just gives me the giggles!  I’ve been in a self described rut lately.  Probably has something to do with my lack of enthusiasm about picking up my camera, this seemingly endless morning sickness and the fact that my computer is on the fritz again, making my proofing process 3x as long as it should be.  So all your comments really cheered me up, thank you!  Ty had a great day.  So thankful for that.  Me and Little T missed him like crazy.  She was […]

the first day

The first day of school.  On a Friday!  That just seems wrong to us!  I’m normally doing my first day of school, no more crazy summer camp schedule, my grocery bill will drastrically reduce, thankful to return to a routine of any kind, happy dance.  But I’m sad about it this year.  So is Little T.  But he’s excited.  And very, very nervous.  New school, he moves up to middle school.  No more elementary.  Most of the same kids, but a different format.  More than one teacher per day, he starts earlier this year and gets out earlier.  They will expect more, no more written homework sheets coming home to parents, it’s all him.  He had a rough year last […]

Aiden Overload

Ok, prepare yourselves….an actual photography related post!  Alright now…pick up your chins 😉  and prepare yourself for some cuteness.  I finalized little Aiden’s order earlier this week and realized I never shared very many from his session.  I just have to post them….he’s one of my favorites, I adore him (and his parents!).  I could post every shot from his session.  He didn’t throw many smiles my way, the little stinker, but oh boy is he expressive!  Going through these makes me feel ready to go back to work!  I can’t wait to do his birthday session. I’m pretty sure I’ve posted this one before but check out that eyebrow action!  LOL! Mr. Silly Face =) Love Love Love this.  […]

It’s official!

Our house is on the market! We signed the listing agreement on Saturday, the sign went up yesterday and I just checked the MLS to see us in there!  It’s listed well below the value so maybe that will spark some interest, we can hope right?  I just keep reminding myself that all it takes is one person to buy it.  We just need the right person to come see it.  Come on bloggers, send us some sell vibes!!

breakfast with bedhead

I miss my camera.  I really do.  I’m so tired and so sick.  I’m ready to reach the end of the 24/7 gag fest that has invaded my life.  I find myself wanting to sleep all the time, because it’s the only time I’m not focused on how awful I feel.  I can’t think about food, it makes me sick.  For some reason the gagging has become a source of laughter for the other members of this family.  And if I’m in a decent mood, I sometimes laugh along with them.  It really is ridiculous. Now that Taryn has her own table and chairs, it’s been a challenge to get her to eat in her highchair.  She does really well […]

you guessed it….

even more house pics….sorry, I know you guys must be getting tired of them by now! Sigh….my photo wall is gone 🙁 the view when you walk through the front door – we have a raised foyer – see our new fireplace??  We have a pretty wood carving to go above it with two candles… here is a pic of the old fireplace, the new one looks so much nicer but man was it an unexpected expense!  We found out during reconstruction that our fireplace was bent in the middle from handling 195 mph wind for hours on end…. the dining room (it’s on the opposite side of the den in the addition the previous owners added to the house) […]

goofy kids

Last night I was soooo tired from working on the house all day, I was ready to crash.  Seems like lately when I’m ready to go to bed at the same time as the kids, they just jump in bed with me and we all snuggle and fall asleep.  I secretly love it.  Taryn isn’t used to sleeping next to Ty, Ty means playtime, but for the first few nights she did good, didn’t bat an eye.  Until last night.  We’re laying there, lights out, all sweet and snuggly.  Then all of a sudden I hear "OW – Taryn!  Get your toe out of my eye!"  Of course Taryn then starts to giggle, which makes Ty giggle.  Then Ty asks […]
