CURRENTLY WANDERING

Hi!  We are a God loving family: Jason, Lyndsay, Ty, Taryn, Jude, Jonah and Zachary. In 2017 we sold our 2,400 square home in Leander, Texas, along with most of our belongings and bought a 400 square foot fifth wheel RV to hit the road and travel full time with 4 of our 5 kids and 2 dogs (Maggie and Pepper). We longed for a more simple life with less stuff and more adventure.  Our goal is to eventually visit all 50 states!  Our bucket list is long and we love adventure, hiking and national parks!  Lyndsay is a professional family travel photographer and loves capturing all their family adventures.  We hope you’ll follow along on our journey!

WHERE TO NEXT?

We left Texas late 2017 and went to Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. In 2018 we hit the southwest, west coast and pacific northwest before looping back down to Texas for the fall and winter. In 2019 we meandered up the east coast, jumping up to Michigan and across to Maine before heading back to Texas for winter.  2020 landed us quarantining in Alabama before heading out Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.  Winter in 2020 took us to Texas, Alabama and Florida, including the Keys.  2021 we hopped around the east coast.  2022 was spent in Utah, Oregon, and Washington before we did the “wiggle down the middle” through the midwest.  We visited our 48th state in early 2023!  We spent 2023 on the East coast including Pennsylvania, Maine, Massachusetts and North Carolina.  2024 brought us back to the west, Taryn graduated high school in Moab, was an extra on The Chosen TV series and we spent our summer in Colorado where she was an intern learning how to farm.  In 2025 we are headed to Washington state to serve the church.

how cool is this?!

CHECK IT OUT Save-on-Crafts is featuring Teagan’s nursery name letter project on their website!  So exciting!!!  And they even did a nice write-up with links and everything!

join the chaos living up to its name

Today was a crazy day. Taryn is 2. And she’s good at it. Within a matter of a few hours she, dumped out her cereal and fruit all over the table (then spit in it….niiiiice), got into my makeup bag in the bathroom and had a good ole time with my lip gloss, decided to play with the soap and bubble bath, escaped out the back door in the cold wet weather to go play (she only got 1/2 down the stairs before I caught her though), tortured the dog a hand full of times until Kylie was begging to go outside and whined and fussed every chance she had. All this, before lunch. Which was pretty interesting in and […]

a baby update

I had an appt this morning to check for progress. Dr. says I’m making slow progress, only a little change, so that’s good.  We believe that the little stinker flipped around and he may be breech.  He still has some time to flip head down, but I go in next week for an ultrasound to check and discuss the possibility of manually trying to turn him via a version. I really hope he flips before then. I do not want to have a c-section if I can avoid it but the version doesn’t sound pleasant at all either. I hope it doesn’t come to that. The scary part, when I got there the nurse checked his heart rate and it […]

Teagan’s Nursery

HA!  Did ya’ll catch that title?!?! I called our baby boy by NAME!  Yuhessss!  We are so excited, after 8.5 months of deliberating, to have decided on a name…..Teagan Jude Stradtner. And yesterday we finished the nursery.  It’s a tiny little room but I just love the way it turned out.  I still have a few little projects I’m working on, but it’s 99% done.  We decided at the last minute to forgo the pretty chocolate colored upholstered rocking chair, we have two other rockers in the house and just couldn’t justify the expense.  If we find we miss having one in there we can always add it later.  I also still want to add a big brown circle rug […]

she makes me work for it

In an effort to try and locate the sweet spots of light in our new house I sat T down before lunch for a few shots.  She wasn’t that interested though… "she’s talking to me, but I’m not gonna look at her or that black box of torture""it doesn’t matter if she dances…I’m not lookin""it doesn’t matter if she sings, this is reaaaaallllly boring" "talking about barney won’t work today mom…I’m onto your tricks…I’m not lookin""hhhmmmm, did she say candy?!?""I really do love candy""Look here Mommy, it’s time to pay up!" …and she’s done.  LOL!Little stinker.  Anyone know of a cure for PCS (Photographer’s Child Syndrome)?  Ahhh, I can’t complain too much I suppose, I’ll have a captive model before […]

the love

I actually dug out the camera today, it’s been packed up and ready to make the trip to the hospital with us.  Good thing I did too, the batteries were totally dead – yikes!  I wanted to snap a few of Ty and Taryn together, mostly for Valentines Day, but also because it could be the last time I photograph just the two of them before #3 arrives.   So we didn’t go far, total of 3 or 4 minutes on the back porch, since I’m supposed to be off my feet.  When we came back inside, Ty was helping Taryn get her snack and drink and I caught this really quick in the kitchen.  I just love the way they […]

Top 10 Personal Faves

I know this is a little late…but better late than never right?!  I’ve had the 5D for a full year now and going back through these photos it just amazes me how much the kids have grown and changed.  I thank God I have photography in my life to capture it… This was difficult, but here they are, in no particular order… Me & the cute husband. Ok, so that’s technically 10.  I could have chosen any one of these, but I didn’t take them, Jase did.  Or even any of the ones of Kylie the dog and Taryn with her lollipop.  I just love those too. And here is one to grow on….looking forward to a fabulous 2008 =) […]

too cute

I should not be shopping online at 4 am….but pregnant insomnia is getting the best of me. I have to share this site with you guys….I stumbled on it totally by accident but I am in love! Seriously cute stuff.  Check it out! Maukilo

feeling brave

The belly.  I must look like I hurt.  Taryn does this to me every day.  She’s so sweet about it….she brings me "bo-baids" (bo-baids are for bobo’s, band-aids are for bands?).  She unwraps it, lifts my shirt, gently pats it on and says "I make you feel better Mommy".  It started about 6 weeks ago maybe, I’d get one a day.  The bigger I get, the more bo-baids I need. And yes, I touched up my stretch marks.  Why??  Because I CAN!  Now if only photoshop worked in real life!!

sweet feet

She sits like this on the couch while reading or watching Little Einsteins.  So her, right now. Still feeling awful, cramping and contractions.  Little sleep.  I am thankful that my recliner, and sleep location of choice here lately, sits next to the large picture window in our living room.  I get to see the most amazing sunrises every morning.  So I guess if there is a bright side to pregnant insomnia and discomfort, that would be it. Our little man (yes, he’s still nameless even though our family thinks we’re just holding out on them) should be over 5 lbs now by my Dr’s estimate.  My next OB appointment is Monday, I’m anxious to see if we’ve made any progress […]

that big horsie head

This one makes me smile….Little T lovin the Gee Gee and Ty, right on his "big horsie head" as she likes to call it =) A quick baby update….I’ve had a couple of rough days, despite staying off my feet as much as I possibly can.  Jason ended up having to stay home yesterday morning and then his mom came to our rescue last night.  Grandma rocks!  She’s rallying the kids today, handling Ty’s doctor’s appointment, checking him into school and just doing a ton to help out so I can concentrate on keeping this baby in.  Thanks Grandma!

just one…

Doesn’t she look peaceful and quiet in this photo?  To that I say HA!  Looks are deceiving!  She’s a wired, on the move, sassy, 2 year old full of endless energy!  I’m wishing she would pass some of it over my way…

meet sofie

Or as Little T calls her, "Soapie".  Makes me giggle every time she frantically runs through the house yelling "WHERE SOAPIE?!?!"  =)  While Soapie wasn’t the immediate hit on Christmas, they are now best buds, attached at the hip, everywhere we go.  Soapie gets snacks, goes to the store and even takes naps with us.  T hasn’t asked to take her into the bathtub yet, but hey, I’m not suggesting it!!

a baby update

Sorry I haven’t posted, to say we’ve been overwhelmed wouldn’t really give it justice…. My OB called Monday morning bright and early after finding out I was in L&D over the weekend (love her for that – she called me before I even had a chance to call her). She decided she wanted to see me right away and to head on in. Thankfully, no more progress, I’m still 2cm and 50% effaced. The babies heart rate was good, a little higher than normal but nothing too concerning. I did tell her though that the baby had been really active both Sat / Sun, like constant party going on in there, active but had been quiet all morning long. She […]

stay put, little man

After a really long night at 2 different ER’s on Friday because Ty got bit by a dog, you’d think we’d have had enough of hospitals for one weekend…. I woke up with contractions on Saturday morning around 4:30 am. After a few minutes they went away and I was able to go back to sleep. At 6:15 I woke up in awful pain, I was having really bad cramps and sharp contractions. To the point where I couldn’t walk or breathe through them easily. The contractions were really irregular but I was also feeling a lot of pressure really low so we went into the hospital and left around 7:30. It was all I could do to get to […]
