CURRENTLY WANDERING

Hi!  We are a God loving family: Jason, Lyndsay, Ty, Taryn, Jude, Jonah and Zachary. In 2017 we sold our 2,400 square home in Leander, Texas, along with most of our belongings and bought a 400 square foot fifth wheel RV to hit the road and travel full time with 4 of our 5 kids and 2 dogs (Maggie and Pepper). We longed for a more simple life with less stuff and more adventure.  Our goal is to eventually visit all 50 states!  Our bucket list is long and we love adventure, hiking and national parks!  Lyndsay is a professional family travel photographer and loves capturing all their family adventures.  We hope you’ll follow along on our journey!

WHERE TO NEXT?

We left Texas late 2017 and went to Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. In 2018 we hit the southwest, west coast and pacific northwest before looping back down to Texas for the fall and winter. In 2019 we meandered up the east coast, jumping up to Michigan and across to Maine before heading back to Texas for winter.  2020 landed us quarantining in Alabama before heading out Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.  Winter in 2020 took us to Texas, Alabama and Florida, including the Keys.  2021 we hopped around the east coast.  2022 was spent in Utah, Oregon, and Washington before we did the “wiggle down the middle” through the midwest.  We visited our 48th state in early 2023!  We spent 2023 on the East coast including Pennsylvania, Maine, Massachusetts and North Carolina.  2024 brought us back to the west, Taryn graduated high school in Moab, was an extra on The Chosen TV series and we spent our summer in Colorado where she was an intern learning how to farm.  In 2025 we are headed to Washington state to serve the church.

Hey Locals – Special Offer

Have you guys ever heard of picture parties?  Basically, its this:  A group of friends, neighbors, relatives, co-workers (you get the idea) hire a photographer to do a session and share it.  The benefit is that you all get photographs of your children, but at a reduced rate, and everyone has a good time.  Generally, the hostess doesn’t pay.  I really want to try one and am looking for a hostess with 4-5 friends willing to participate.  I’m willing to offer a seriously reduced rate in return for being my test run to see if this is something I might want to add in to my business structure.  If you are local and think this is something you might be […]

snapped it

chimped itgrabbed the memory cardran to my computerdownloaded it and proofed it within just a few minutes ya hear that?its whispering "order me big on canvas" 😉

not much going on today

I decided we needed a day in, so we’re having a pj day.  I’m nursing Teagan and after all our running around the last few days, my supply is low.  So, today I’m at his disposal to try and get things right again.  During his morning nap, T and I dove into a few craft projects for her new room.  We started working on her new magnet board and then we painted these hooks.  I’m too cheap to pay for the Pottery Barn ones I wanted, mostly cause I needed 6 of them.  So instead we made these… Pardon the cruddy photo please.  We painted 3 hot pink and 3 green.  T’s paint job needed a little touching up 😉  […]

holding on

Working on proofing Beth’s session tonight and thought I’d post one… Yeah, they were just too darn cute.  I’m going way over that 10-15 image "mini" session I promised!

standing guard

I admit that I haven’t taken many pics of Ty playing soccer this year, and I feel bad about it.  I don’t have a good sports lens and the 100 mm macro just doesn’t cut it.  I sure am missing that 70-300 mm I sold to Jaidean, I used to use it a lot when Ty played baseball.  I can’t get close enough for any good action shots without a good zoom and the fields this year for his age group are really big, so I’ve struggled.  Now that the season is almost over I’m wishing I would have rented a lens.  He played really good in the last game of the regular season yesterday, I was so proud of […]

I love it when….

someone else picks up my camera and snaps a little gem for me to find when downloading… Jase took this today.  During Ty’s soccer game.  One of the other players family beings their cute little pug puppy sometimes.  Well Taryn is in love.  Big time.   And the feeling is mutual.   As soon as they see one another Taryn gets giddy and assumes her position (seen above) and Addison pounces into her lap and gives her bunches of puppy kisses.  This makes T so happy and giggly.   And for a split second, it makes me want to get her a puppy.  But only a split second because then reality sinks in that I have enough dirty, unruly, whiney, unpotty trained mouths […]

what day is it again?

Anyone else feel like they spend the entire week recovering from the weekend?  I sure do.  Usually by Friday I’m ready for the weekend, but not this week, it snuck up on me!  Maybe its because we have been so busy, more than the usual, crazy kind of busy.  Soccer is keeping us hopping, two nights a week plus weekends, but the end is in sight.  Ty’s had a good time playing.  And did I tell y’all that Ty got straight A’s except for one C on his report card?  I’m so proud of him.’ We are still knee deep in moving the kids rooms all around.  My goal is to get it done before my mom comes to visit […]

Isn’t he just the cutest thing ever?!

Of course I’m not biased or anything 😉  The first of a million smiles I’ll catch on camera… Gosh he makes my heart melt… Love, love, love him.

Birth Announcement

Hopefully everyone on our mailing list has received theirs by now.  I had actually designed a very different, and difficult to have printed correctly, birth announcement, for Teagan.  It was an intricate 5×5 tri-fold design with a layout of multiple photos of all the kids, some of just Teagan and then with Jase and I.  After several attempts to get it right with the lab without success, I ended up throwing in the towel in the name of just getting it done.   I came across some really cute templates on Debbie’s blog and followed the link to Uniquely You Designs. She has some really cute stuff!   Jase and I then couldn’t agree on which photos to use, but I decided […]

Seaworld

Our goal was to arrive in San Antonio at 9 am when the park opened, but in true "parents of a newborn" fashion, we had some trouble getting out of the house and didn’t get there until 2 pm.  HA!  But even with our late and chaotic start, we got there and had a blast.  We only ventured into about 1/2 of the park, I’m so excited we bought season tickets, we’ll be going back lots! A couple of memories stand out the most… Taryn loved her purple bracelet that let everyone manning the rides know how tall she was.  It was purple and very cool.  She was just tall enough to go on the rides a level above the […]

just a quick one

Just a quick post this morning.  We are   d   r   a   g   g   i   n   g   this morning after a very long, but fun trip to SeaWorld in San Antonio yesterday.  It was 11 pm before we got home and we are so tired today!  The kids had a blast and the best part is we bought season passes so we’ll be going back all summer long!  I took a ton of pics too but they are all still sitting on the card, in the camera. Here are a few more from my shoot on Saturday with Beth and her husband….I’m still sorting through them but have so many favorites already….I love that even though you can’t see their faces, […]

oh so young and in love

Just got home after photographing our contest winner, Beth C.  She and her husband were so much fun!  I had to pull a few while downloading….and my first thought when I saw this was "oh so young and in love". Thanks for a great time guys, more to come!  I’ll go way over the promised 10-15 images!
