CURRENTLY WANDERING

Hi!  We are a God loving family: Jason, Lyndsay, Ty, Taryn, Jude, Jonah and Zachary. In 2017 we sold our 2,400 square home in Leander, Texas, along with most of our belongings and bought a 400 square foot fifth wheel RV to hit the road and travel full time with 4 of our 5 kids and 2 dogs (Maggie and Pepper). We longed for a more simple life with less stuff and more adventure.  Our goal is to eventually visit all 50 states!  Our bucket list is long and we love adventure, hiking and national parks!  Lyndsay is a professional family travel photographer and loves capturing all their family adventures.  We hope you’ll follow along on our journey!

WHERE TO NEXT?

We left Texas late 2017 and went to Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. In 2018 we hit the southwest, west coast and pacific northwest before looping back down to Texas for the fall and winter. In 2019 we meandered up the east coast, jumping up to Michigan and across to Maine before heading back to Texas for winter.  2020 landed us quarantining in Alabama before heading out Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.  Winter in 2020 took us to Texas, Alabama and Florida, including the Keys.  2021 we hopped around the east coast.  2022 was spent in Utah, Oregon, and Washington before we did the “wiggle down the middle” through the midwest.  We visited our 48th state in early 2023!  We spent 2023 on the East coast including Pennsylvania, Maine, Massachusetts and North Carolina.  2024 brought us back to the west, Taryn graduated high school in Moab, was an extra on The Chosen TV series and we spent our summer in Colorado where she was an intern learning how to farm.  In 2025 we are headed to Washington state to serve the church.

it’s only girls, and not the boys

Taryn asked me yesterday if I would bring her to see Wall-E so today we are taking off, just us girls, no boys.  They have to stay home, causing us to do a little booty dance and sing "its only girls and not the boys".  I haven’t been to the movies in probably 7 or 8 months…so yeah, I’m a little excited! Since I can’t post without a pic, check him out…love his chubby baby neck…   I may have to do "10 on {insert day here]" every day next week if I am ever going to catch up on blogging!

the elusive “perfect” sibling shot…

You know the one, where everyone is happy, and looking, with love in their eyes.  This aint it.  But it is them, very, very them. Teagan’s becoming quite the little camera hog.  He did not want his sister in the picture, at all.  His little scowl cracks me up, he just kept pushing her away and she kept coming back for more.  It was just too funny because normally he can’t get enough of her, he snuggles her right up.  That is until she honed in on his camera time.  I’m ruining him.  And check out that belly!

sigh…isn’t he dreamy

Last of the Louisiana mini-sessions.  This shot, I just keep coming back to….he’s so dreamy… I can’t believe how much Aiden has grown since our last session.  He’s gone from baby to little boy. and I have to add this one….looooved dad’s shirt 😉  I’m secretly hoping they will move to Austin…they would love it here! Thanks for meeting up with me guys, it was great to catch up and hang out!

the girl with it all

She’s beautiful… she has a loving husband… she’s got one of the cutest little boys around… Not to mention that she’s beyond talented, check out her work at Paper & Ink Studio.  She did my new custom thank you notes for the new business and they are GOR-GEOUS!  And I have no shame, I totally invited myself over to their house the next time we are in town!  Thanks for a wonderful time you guys and it was so great to finally meet you in person!

calling all blog readers, I need some help….

and this means you too lurkers 😛 My mom and step-dad got me a great gift for my birthday, they said they’d give me the money to order a big old canvas.  Only I can’t decide for the life of me what to order.  Do I go for one big image, several small ones or maybe even a collage?  And I really can’t decide on what image(s)!?  HELP?!?! Since a lot of my favorites have appeared here on the blog, I thought maybe you guys could help me.  If you were me, what would you order?

the triplets

The last time I saw them before we moved to Texas, they were just tiny little peanuts.  I was psyched when their mom booked one of the Slidell mini sessions.  And I have to tell you how impressed I was with how cool, calm and collected everyone was!  And get this, they all sleep through the night, yes, I asked and I’m totally impressed! I’ll start with this one just cause it cracks me up!    Am I horrible that I love this one?  Poor baby…she was not into her birthday hat at all!  Check out that tear… Without the hat she was a happy little thing though. Thanks for all the fun guys and happy birthday!!!!!

10 on Tuesday

1.  I dedicated myself to going through my massive email inbox Monday night.  It was baaaaad thanks to all the vacationing we’ve been doing.  1432 messages down to 405, not bad.  So if you receive a random reply to a message from me, that’s what it’s all about 😉 2.  T’s birthday was nice.  Relaxing, quiet and nice.  We didn’t even leave the house and it was just perfect after the weekend we had.  I can tell you this, the first time we sung Happy Birthday this morning over donuts, she hid under the table in fear.  By the end of the night, she was begging us to relight the candles and sing to her over and over again.  Funny […]

worst vacation ever

I am so glad to be home.  Our little over night excursion to San Antonio was stressful and just plain miserable.  I don’t know what happened, but my sweet girl was just plain difficult.  Actually, the word difficult doesn’t do it justice.  I’d say possessed but you guys might think I’m a horrible mother.  But in all honesty, that’s the adjective that first pops into my mind.  Awful, just awful.  Dinner with Alli, Mike and Lily would have been nice if I could have participated, but Teagan decided to scream through dinner….which I’m sad about cause I heard Lily used tortillas as a frisby….dang it, I miss all the good stuff!!  Seaworld was miserable, waaaay too many people, even at […]

every.single.day

Every single day, when we get up and out of bed, I talk to the kids about our "plan for the day".  Whether its hang at home or doctor visits or grocery shopping, whatever, we always talk about it somewhere between climbing out of bed and breakfast, we always talk about our day.  Without fail, when we ask T what she wants to do, its followed by a long thoughtful pause and then a big, bright "I KNOW, LET’S GO TO SEAWORLD!" every.single.day since our first visit to Seaworld. Today, to help celebrate her upcoming birthday, we woke up and said "Hey, let’s go to Seaworld!"…and she is psyched.  We get to stay over night and everything.  And you know […]

Did I mention?

3 is my favorite number?  My most favorite little girl in the whole world turns 3 in 3 days.  Stay tuned for birthday pics! "Super T" pretty much has her own identity around here…."Super T wants some juice please"…"Super T doesn’t want to take a nap"…and when Teagan drops a toy or Kylie needs to be let in or out, it’s "Super T to the rescuuuuuuuuuue!"  Super T also gets blamed for things her alter ego doesn’t feel like fessing up to.  As a result, Super T has grown to dislike timeout.  Yeah, I’ve got a lot of nerve punishing a super hero?!  The funniest part is that she pulls her little arms up and over, fists clenched and hikes […]

dennis the menace

I just had to come back and share a few more of cute little Bradley.  The whole time I was proofing I couldn’t shake the feeling of familiarity.  At first I thought it was because this little guy reminds me of Ty when he was 2….which desperately made me wish I could go back in time with my camera.  But when I was chatting with his mom about the photos, she mentioned the little look of mischief in his eyes in this shot and said "he is such a little dennis the menace!"  HA!  lightbulb moment – that’s who he reminds me of!! a little more traditional than my usual work, but I still love it… I love that even […]

deep down, y’all knew it was coming….

it was inevitable… here it is… the time has come… the oh so predictable… baby in a basket HA!  What I love about this is that his sweet little face is looking up at Ty who was "spotting" for basket tippage.  You can see the love in his eyes can’t ya?  I feel the same way about Ty, so I know just how Teagan feels.  Gosh I love them both. ps – When I was done proofing this photo, I ran the VIBE "Glow" action on it and really like the effect.  Check out Ren’s stuff, it rocks!

I’m so far behind on ….

insert word here:  blogging, proofing, cleaning, returning emails and phone calls, birthday party planning.  You name it, I’m behind on it.  Sorry if you are waiting on me…I’m plugging along! 5 days left of being 2 and she’s just as fabulous as ever.  Her signature giggle cracks me up every time….
