I got brave and decided to venture out and take my own kids to frolic in the bluebonnets and capture them.  The light was so pretty, all warm and glowing.  And they did awesome.  It reminded me that I need to take them out for photos together more often.  I’ve been seriously slacking in that department, relying on my iphone and Samsung 300nx (which I looooove btw).  Life is busy.  Jonah is uber busy lol.  They were awfully good to me this night.  The first photo, is just so them, their personalities embodied.  And the last one WILL be big in my house somewhere.  […]

the 2 months that killed my blog

Kicking off the dust on the old blog tonight.  Has it really been 2 months?!  Ugh.  It has.  What killed my blogging for 2 months?  Lots.  First, we had a rough week right after my last post in January.  In the matter of a day our van broke down and my laptop was destroyed in an unfortunate run-in with a bottle of shampoo my husband left next to it.  For real, coconut shampoo, I couldn’t make this randomness up.  So the van went in the shop, my laptop got tucked away, along with my productivity and I cried.  A lot.  We are NOT a one car family.  And we are not a one computer family either.  We had Jason’s tiny […]

Confession time.  Sometimes I get really bored photographing my kids in my own house.  I love my kids, they are fun, and always provide me with great opportunities to capture real life.  But I get bored with my house and the light.  I know all the good spots and the places I need the kids to be in so I can get good lighting and a good shot.  Sometimes, being stuck inside these walls is just, the same, uninspiring, blah spot.  This tends to hit me the hardest in January, when I actually have time, since September and the beginning of busy season, to actually capture my own kids.  It’s also cold and heading out to capture them somewhere more […]
