While my Mom was here for Mother’s Day she had the idea to take a girls day and go get pedicures.  We took Taryn along and it was not her first time having her nails painted (her daddy is normally in charge of that) but it was her first time going to a ‘salon’.  And by ‘salon’ I mean the place tucked into the parking lot of HEB lol.  Little T was all over it, so excited to leave the boys behind.  Until we got to the door, she stopped and I could see her nose squish up from the smell.  We got her in the door though and her first job was to pick out polish.  Soooooo many choices.  […]

There is a beast in our house and it has been here as long as I can remember.  And I want it out.  Or contained.  Or tamed.  Something has to change and I’m desperate for help.

It’s ugly.

It’s paper.  It drives me insane.  The mail, the papers from school, bills, magazines.  It was bad before we started our business but now it is downright out of control.  Bills from vendors, client contracts, maps to locations, quickbooks reports, receipts.  We are drowning.  At this moment we have no less than 10 stacks in our house worse than the one above.  Not including my desk, or the cabinet packed to the gills with paper […]

I’m going to go ahead and call out my mother-in-law on this one.  She was JUST telling stories about how Jason used to do this at Teagan’s age.  She was wondering if Teagan had done it yet.  And I said “nope”.  Well, he must have been listening to her funny story because after a few too many quiet moments this morning, I went looking for my little dude….

As soon as I pulled these up on my computer I had flashbacks of this and this.  Different kid, same ornery.

He’s a cute little stinker though isn’t he?  I think he knows it.

The cure for baby fever.  The perfect birth control.  Photographing my own family.  We had plans while my mom was in town to head out for a family session and then go out to dinner.  We talked to the kids about being cooperative and being well behaved.  Unfortunately, the PCS was at an all time high and the Mother’s Day gift of cooperation soon turned to the gift of frustration.  I can honestly say that I was on the verge of tears…..why are my kids so tough?  Why is it easier to photograph clients?  I’ve totally ruined them with daily “quick” and “one or two here and there” exposure to the camera.  Don’t they understand that it would be easier […]
