Out of focus happy accident

Sometimes the out of focus happy accident photos are my fave. 🥰 This kid has been obsessed with the playground at our campground. It has 4 slides and I can’t really blame him. It’s a coincidence that we landed at the exact same campground we were at exactly 2 years ago. He loved this playground then too, even though he doesn’t remember it.

9th year of learning at home

Scenes from our first day of homeschool today. I can’t believe this is our 9th year of learning at home! It was a decision we initially felt forced to make. Taryn’s school and teacher kept exposing her to foods she is allergic to. She was constantly sick as a result. She had a 504 everyone ignored and we were told by the principal it’d be easier for them if homeschooled her. You can imagine that comment (and many others) didn’t go over real well. We had an advocate and fought. In the end, we could put our energy in to advocating, year after year, and still deal with constant allergic reactions, or […]

RVing in Florida for the winter

2021-04-03T15:51:43-05:00February 23rd, 2021|My Family, Jonah, RV Life, Zachary|

Oh, Florida.

Our last adventure in Florida this year was a stop at the Cape Canaveral National Seashore. It was a little cold but that didn’t stop these two from getting wet and jumping waves one bit. After the space center on Saturday it felt good to get some fresh air, put our feet in the sand and relax in nature.

We’ve been Rving in the winter in Florida 3 times in the last 3+ years and this year it was a whole new experience! We made a Florida bucket list and hit every thing on it but one. The last 2 months brought us to the Everglades, the Keys, a turtle hospital, the […]

Visiting Kennedy Space Center during Covid

2021-04-03T16:04:35-05:00February 22nd, 2021|My Family, Jonah, Jude, RV Life, Taryn, Zachary|

This weekend was so busy I’m still catching my breath! As our Christmas gift, Jason’s parents gave us an adventure and we chose Kennedy Space Center. We are so thankful, we had a blast!!

My kids were so excited to explore the grounds and the rocket garden before we ever even entered a single exhibit. Kennedy Space Center is is very well done.  Getting to see the space shuttle Atlantis was a highlight! We’ve seen the Discovery at Udvar Hazy in Washington DC too. The cool thing about Atlantic is that it’s suspended between several floors. We were able to walk right up next […]

Night Viewing of Space X Falcon 9 launch

2021-04-03T16:14:36-05:00February 16th, 2021|RV Life, Roadschool|

Tonight we drove over to Titusville to view the Space X Falcon 9 launch and it was AMAZING! The launch didn’t start until almost 11 pm but the kids did so great after a rough day today. It took a ton of research to figure out where to catch a night launch since most of the parks and best viewing spots are closed this time of night. But some locals sent us to the perfect spot!

We tried going to Space View Park in Titusville. It was easy parking and a short walk to the viewing seats but the view was blocked by fencing, flag poles and a huge crane. There was one […]
