glimpse of the real

When Kelsey asked me for an in home lifestyle session I jumped at it!  I haven’t done one in ages and it is so fun to get a glimpse of the real, messy, chaos of young families!  We focused on all their favorite things, football, crafts, playing with your bff, jumping on the trampoline, the lemonade stand, a baking cook off competition and PJs and books at the end.  Life won’t always look like this and I really believe these images will grow in value as life changes.  This family has been with me for years and I am so thankful for clients who let their guard down and let me in […]

365: Boo boo check-in

I cannot pick one photo for today.  I love them both.  Zachary fell and Jonah was first on the scene to console and check the boo boo.  With a slew of busy boys we get lots of skinned knees around these parts.

Mom tip:  I keep a spray bottle of colloidal silver in my purse and hiking backpack.  It is a great antiseptic that works to heal cuts, abrasions, and wounds.  It’s perfect for a little cleaning but the best part is that it takes the pain away super fast!  I use a spray bottle so I don’t have to wipe or touch it because […]

365: 4 pm nap

He climbed up on my lap and fell asleep super fast.  I tried to keep him awake because 4 pm nap means a rough bedtime.  Nothing worked.  He was out.  Photo credit:  Jude

Super thankful for a husband that is always willing to console a woken up too soon toddler who just wants to cry for a bit.  His best trick is to take him outside.  It calms him and has worked since he was just a few months old.

365: Dog vs Toddler

Her most favorite thing in the world is her bowl.  It’s her lovey.  She carries that darn thing everywhere and has since she was a puppy.  The other day she walked past Zachary and hit him really hard in the head with her tail.  He was frustrated with her, it really hurts, her tail is vicious.  He took her bowl out of her mouth and put it on the other side of his lap out of her reach.  She immediately got up, walked all the way around the island, through the kitchen, to the other side to get her bowl.  Z spotted her, took the bowl again, got up, marched over […]

Reclaiming my Instagram content.

This post comes from a place of being a blogger for many years.  I’ve been feeling….off….about my content and social media accounts for some time now.  After our trauma almost 3 years ago, I all but left Facebook.  It was so negative at a time I just couldn’t absorb negativity at all.  I still have an account that I use to access groups, handle business related things for several businesses and I like to crowdsource travel ideas there.  Otherwise, I am just not there that much.  One of my big regrets is that over the course of 9ish years I’ve given them so much of my content, so many memories.  As I pulled away from Facebook after the trauma, I […]

A good old fashioned 10 on Tuesday

1. My timehop app tells me that on this date last year we were back on the road and leaving Texas for the year.  Our current plan is to be here for another 7 weeks at least.  That’s ok, this is where we need to be, but it reminds me of how much I miss the open road and the excitement of our next adventure just around the corner.  We are not a family that is good at sitting still.

2. When you have been disconnected all day and the WiFi comes on.

3.  Zachary is so much fun at this age.  He will turn 3 in February (?!?!?) and every other thing […]
