check it out | austin photographer

The fabulous Andrea Roberts dropped me an email this week and asked me to participate in a little project she had going on.  She won a contest and had the honor of participating in beta testing for a new texture program for THE Doug Boutwell and TRA.  So head on over to Andrea’s blog, er uhm, I mean, Roxie Glitterhips blog, and check it out….very cool stuff!  Thanks Andrea for letting me in on the fun too!

10 on Tuesday | austin photographer

1.  We have huge news at our house.  Taryn has a new favorite color.  When your life and house and all major 4 year old decisions revolve around a favorite color, when it changes, it’s huge.  We’ll be doing something to celebrate and embrace her new favorite hue of choice later this week.

2.  Even bigger news…..Taryn found something amazing at the beach.  I was so excited to tell her and I wish you could have seen her face, thrilled, tickled, breathless doesn’t even begin to describe it.  She found……..FRECKLES.  And whenever you talk about the freckles she found at the beach, her shoulders rise a little and her face lights up with the deepest giggle you’ve ever heard.  Cutest thing […]

home | austin photographer lyndsay stradtner

We made it.  10 days, several states, tons of fun, family parties, the beach, wonderful memories made.  We are so thankful for the time we spent together as a family.  And after a very long day of travel, we are now home.  I miss my mom like crazy already.  Goodbye days are the hardest.  But we will be glad to be in our own beds tonight.

We came home to VERY full inboxes and my voicemail was full, so I apologize if you tried to leave me a message and it didn’t let you!  If you tried and couldn’t leave a message, please try me again, I’m here now!  I will be returning emails and phone messages over the next few […]

little dude, love you | austin family photographer

I love the way you say Momma with intensity, with urgency.  “Daddy” is calm, “Taryn” is calm, “Ty” is calm, “Momma” is urgent.  And loud.  And funny.

I love the way you named your blankie “Mae”.  You have no idea that Ty’s lovie when he was a baby was a dog named “Freckle Mae The Wonder Dog” or that when Taryn was born she renamed that dog “Mae Mae”.  What are the odds you’d choose Mae for your lovie too with no encouragment.

I love it when you look at me like this.  I melt into a big pile of mush every single time…..

I love your teeth right now.  I know they […]

we got jodified | austin family photographer

About a week ago I was over reading Jodie Allens blog and found out she was heading to the beach the same time as us.  Turns out we were going to be a few hours apart, but worked it out to meet in the middle and swap sessions on the beach.  I was thrilled to get to meet her and have her photograph my family!  I love her work, she sees beauty in places so many of us overlook.  It about killed me to have her photograph my family and not have one of her “love light” sessions just for me and Jase….I’ve wanted one for.ev.er.  But today was the day we met up.  I was still feeling a […]

beach bound

So far, we’ve had a big family party, a day of work, a day of rest and today, another day of travel.  We packed up the car this morning and drove over to the gulf coast.  And even though I managed to get really sick last night and today, I couldn’t be happier to be here.  My mom rented a beautiful condo for us right on the water.

The lights on the sand are people crab hunting.  When you look down the shoreline at night, the lights freckle the way as far as you can see.  Tomorrow will be filled with sun and sand and kiddos on the beach.  Can’t wait.  We […]
