Sometimes the serious shots steal my heart.

A few more photos of Teagan from the other day. I’ve officially entered that “I’m too busy working during busy season to photograph my own family” phase of fall. These were my effort to get behind the camera and photograph my own kiddos. It feels good when I do. Nothing feels like taking a good photograph. That instant gratification and urge to run for the card reader. I feel better when I photograph. Like I can breathe and move and function. Is that weird?
This was the last light of the day, it felt golden. Jason had run out to pick up Ty from somewhere. His sister was off finishing her second bowl of sauerkraut and bean soup for dinner, and […]

I’ve been quiet around here. We’ve had a rough month. This week has been even more so. I haven’t talked about it much but we are going through a really difficult time with Taryn. Having two blogs has been hard on me this last month. I don’t know why, but I’m not sure what to post where. So, I’ve just been quiet. Cause I’ve been overwhelmed. Her sensory issues are not only back, it feels like they exploded. We do know why, but that doesn’t make it easier or her or any of us really. We are doing everything we can to heal her, we are detoxing her, and working on […]

I love photos. The best thing about this job, is capturing a small moment in time. And even when things change, a family grows, your baby is suddenly toddling around and no longer a tiny baby in your arm, you still have that photo. That photo won’t change, even when life and people do. I love that. I love capturing this family, they have invited me to capture so many wonderful moments for their young group over the years. The kids are growing so fast, it’s just a blink of the eye and it’s suddenly changed and different again. But a photo stops it, just for a second, it captures it […]

A happy baby girl. A sweet big brother. And quite possibly, my most favorite family image ever! Ha! I love it!!

This family wanted an easy, relaxed, fun session filled with real smiles. Check! As I drove down SoCo headed home, my first thought, was how much I laughed this morning. Thanks for the fun guys!
ps – I do not think Mathilde shares my sentiment over random couches. She looks violated and irritated. But that kind of makes me laugh even more. HA!
