I wish every single teacher, school administrator, cafeteria worker, bus driver and janitor would read this.
So, so powerful.
No matter what the special need is, autism, down syndrome, or as is the case at our house, sensory processing disorder and multiple food allergies, there is a living, breathing special soul that needs attention and love and nurturing and just a little something extra from those that we parents trust enough to watch over our children while they are at school. I photographed this beautiful family my first year in business here in Austin and it was so fun to catch up with them again tonight. Their momma happens to be one super talented lady and music professor. Teagan and I did a music together class at her studio Velocity Music Academy last year and I really need to get us back in there again, we miss it! It was great to catch up with them tonight and see how much the kids have grown. Time flies!

We were beginning to feel like this session was doomed. We rescheduled not once, but twice for freak Texas wind storms, that happen to occur two weeks apart. Of all the luck! I laughed when confirming the session date and time and Emily emailed me back with “Yes, see you then, barring hurricane force winds, monsoons, or blizzards.” HA! There were a few teeth chattering at the very end, but we finally got it! And as always, Adelaide was ON, and funny and happy! I love photographing this family, I always leave with a belly ache from laughing so hard!
