I got up later than usual this morning, spotted a beautiful day outside and my messy house inside, and told the children to get dressed in a hurry then report to the kitchen to help fix a picnic lunch.  It was in the 60’s, cool, clear, pretty and the weather is supposed to be yuck the rest of the week.  I’m tired of being inside, cooped up, cleaning only for another mess to pop up seconds later.  Ty needed to get out too, he’s not used to staying home so much.  Only a few more weeks until he can shed the sling and drive again post-op.  So, we fixed our picnic lunch […]

Day 5 | 365 Project

005

A book, a toy camera and a box of raisins.  Leaving the house around here can be chaotic with four kids, shoes (Jude can never locate his), last minute potty trips and the unending number of things they simply *must* bring along.  I have a rule they have to choose one thing and I prefer books.  Otherwise it’s too much stuff to keep up with in addition to kids.  Sometimes, once in a blue moon, they are ready to leave before me.  When this happens, they gather in this spot, all sweetly tucked in next to each other, in front of the screen door, patiently waiting for my words that it’s ok […]

Joan turns 5 | Austin Children’s Photographer

Ms. Joan turned 5 this fall.  I never forget her birthday, as she and Jonah share it!  When we got to the location, it was locked, so we photographed this entire session around the perimeter.  That’s what I love about these, it’s not so much the location, but the love.  The shots of her snuggling Jennifer at the end just melt my heart, so sweet.  They fit on our laps for such a short time.
