Muddy puddles

It was a creek bed and muddy puddles kinda evening. We are thankful for a break in the rain on our last evening here. It’s been easy to pop in to the Smokey Mountains National Park just a few miles up the road. We head to Asheville with the RV tomorrow but Sunday we will drive to see the BFFs in Tennessee. It’s been way to long and my kids are beyond excited to see their besties!

Hiking in the rain

Today we went hiking in the rain. On purpose. I can’t say that’s something we ever would have done while living in a house. But when it’s been a rough day and there’s a waterfall in the national park 8 minutes away, it was tempting. And you know what, it was perfect and exactly what I needed.

Glow Stick Dance Party

Follow along as we have a glow stick dance party on New Years Eve with the kids! This was cheap (dollar store for glow sticks and tape) and SO much fun! My only regret is that I didn’t buy enough for the adults to do it too!

Great Smokey Mountains National Park

Did you know that Great Smokey Mountains National Park has more visitors per year than any other national park in the US? It’s big! We are focusing on the North Carolina portion this stay with the intention of seeing the Tennessee side during a different stay. The areas we saw today were really beautiful.
