The cure for baby fever.  The perfect birth control.  Photographing my own family.  We had plans while my mom was in town to head out for a family session and then go out to dinner.  We talked to the kids about being cooperative and being well behaved.  Unfortunately, the PCS was at an all time high and the Mother’s Day gift of cooperation soon turned to the gift of frustration.  I can honestly say that I was on the verge of tears…..why are my kids so tough?  Why is it easier to photograph clients?  I’ve totally ruined them with daily “quick” and “one or two here and there” exposure to the camera.  Don’t they understand that it would be easier […]

Again, I sit here not sure what to say or how to convey how much this has changed me.  I’m not sure I can.  It is my hope I have done this family justice, that I have brought something real and genuine to them.  This is a slideshow I put together for Alex and his family.  It showcases only a few of the over 200 images from their session, but it tells their story.  You can read more about how I came to meet this wonderful family here.

My Name is Alex

Alex, thank you for letting me capture your beautiful family and for inspiring me to live in this moment and to be thankful for the blessings that surround […]

A quick photo of little T.  I tricked her into this shot.  My 5DMII went in to Canon for a little TLC and I got it back this morning.  I coerced Little T into a few test shots for me, bedhead and all.  She was thrilled with this idea, can’t ya tell?

I had such a great time with this family.  It’s been awhile since I have had an in home session that wasn’t a newborn and I forgot just how much I love them.  I get a little glimpse into their world and it was a lot of fun to just hang out with this adorable family for the afternoon.

One of our goals was to capture lots of photos of Grace with her Grandmother….love these….

how cute is her expression here?

I am finishing up the order for these two cute little guys and wanted to come back and share more than just their sneak peek.  I was so excited to get to do this session, I made the drive down to New Braunsfels just a few days after they were born (and shhhhhh don’t mention that little shopping trip I made on the way back at the enormous San Marcos Outlet).

I knew that Mom and Dad had traveled a long road to get these little guys here and I am honored they chose me to capture the first few precious days.  I was overcome by how cool and calm these parents are.  They don’t begrudge a single moment of […]
