Today is my mom’s 65th birthday! She’s the best. She chose to spend our day having a picnic at the splash pad and then a bbq for dinner. Happy birthday, Gee!

This big kid is officially potty trained. The last thing to conquer was naptime and over night and he’s been doing great. No more cloth diapers… bye bye cute fluffy butt.

Having Heather here for my 40th birthday today was such a blessing. My kids accepted her and just expected her to jump on in to all of our chaos. Someone new to play with for 5 days?! Sweet! It was amazing to watch them all get to know each other. And……the big 40. I’ve decided not to fret or wallow in the number but instead remind myself that it’s a privilege denied to many. We spent today showing Heather around Austin. Zilker Botanical, Casa De Luz and then she, my mom and I went to the movies. My mom was baffled we chose Jurrasic World over Magic Mike lol.

My little fire cracker all ready for the neighborhood parade. We paraded, bbq’d, played in the water and watched fireworks. It was a great day!

This afternoon I opened my front door and found THE MOST AMAZING 40th birthday gift ever. The people that love me most schemed to get Heather here to celebrate my birthday, all the way from Oregon. A gift 5 years in the making!! I cried when I saw her peek from behind the balloons! Every childhood memory I have is wrapped up with her. We’ve been friends for 35 years. My oldest and dearest. Best gift ever!!!! And I was totally shocked and surprised, I didn’t have a clue.
