365 Project: Mater

Z absolutely love the Cars movies. We’ve been driving past this Mater for months coming and going from the campground. I knew I had to stop and take his photo before leaving town.

Z absolutely love the Cars movies. We’ve been driving past this Mater for months coming and going from the campground. I knew I had to stop and take his photo before leaving town.

It has been a very long couple of days. Thursday, we went back to Dell Children’s Hospital for Jonah’s follow up appointment. The purpose of that appointment was to remove the large long arm plaster cast and move him over to a short arm fiberglass cast. We’ve had concerns about the fit of the cast throughout, but were assured repeatedly it was fine. When we arrived they removed it, did an x-ray and the PA assured us we could move him in to a brace. Jonah had his plaster cast removed yesterday. And while his arm IS improving, what followed was a complete disaster of medical care that was anything but good or personalized. 10 years ago Taryn broke her forearm and we had a fantastic experience with Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin. The care has drastically gone downhill since then and we are so relieved that we can go seek healthcare elsewhere. Never again, Dell.
