My baby girl turned 10 day.  She’s bright yet moody, fierce yet reserved, loud yet reflective, funny yet often not amused by us. She’s an artist and a book writer and an adventurer. She has big ideas, really, really big ideas. I often say she lacks a filter from her brain to her face, you always know what she’s thinking. She’s this amazing mix of a person that makes her both brilliantly energizing and exhausting all at the same time and even in the same minute. Love these two. She’s been so brave and strong. She and Grandpa have been married for 70 years. I hope we can achieve their level of love and devotion. What wonderful examples we have. We will miss Grandpa so much. Hard to leave Corpus today but it was good to go and love on Grandma for a few days.

Bedtime. Yes, we are “still” nursing. I’m pretty darn proud of that. Thankfully, I don’t get very many negitive comments about it, probably because we live in a pretty crunchy town. It’s good for him. It works for us. And it’s totally normal. Yes, he still gets milk, yes, it still has nutritional value (that one always kills me, like breastmilk suddenly loses all nutritional content at a year old?!). He will wean when he is ready. This phase of nursing feels easy. I donated breastmilk for over a year and pumped a lot to accomplish that. I also pumped a lot to be able to leave Jonah to work. So to […]
