In an effort to throw ourselves into the holiday mood, we made the trip out to the Elgin Christmas Tree Farm today.  It’s quite a ways from our house, but it was also a lot of fun.  It was both Jason’s and Taryn’s first time cutting down their own tree
(Ty and I used to do it that way every year back when it was just the
two of us). They had all kinds of animals and we went on a hayride, the kids loved it!  I have to mention though that bumpy hayrides and pregnant women don’t exactly mix well.  It was a little rough for me.  In that last uncomfortable month, I may be begging Jason to bring me back to beg them for another ride in hopes of it putting me into labor!  LOL!!

The one thing I realized today, in the Texas heat (it was hot today!!), is that the Stradtner family is one indecisive bunch.  I swear we looked at hundreds of trees.  We walked and walked and walked.   I think this is one of my favorite shots from today…

Ok, I take that back, everyone but Taryn was indecisive, it didn’t take her very long to find her perfect tree.  It was love at first sight…

As soon as I downloaded these pictures I felt immediate regret that we didn’t buy it for her.  They were perfect for each other.

And given all his cooperation yesterday (see post below this one), I didn’t dare request eye contact ๐Ÿ˜‰  Ty was totally into helping cut down the tree hauling it (worked for us!).  You wouldn’t know it from this photo but there were hundreds of people there!!

Well, I did ask for a little cooperation ๐Ÿ˜‰  He’s such a trooper.

Now we just have to decorate it!  I hope everyone had a great weekend!
