In an effort to throw ourselves into the holiday mood, we made the trip out to the Elgin Christmas Tree Farm today. It’s quite a ways from our house, but it was also a lot of fun. It was both Jason’s and Taryn’s first time cutting down their own tree
(Ty and I used to do it that way every year back when it was just the
two of us). They had all kinds of animals and we went on a hayride, the kids loved it! I have to mention though that bumpy hayrides and pregnant women don’t exactly mix well. It was a little rough for me. In that last uncomfortable month, I may be begging Jason to bring me back to beg them for another ride in hopes of it putting me into labor! LOL!!
The one thing I realized today, in the Texas heat (it was hot today!!), is that the Stradtner family is one indecisive bunch. I swear we looked at hundreds of trees. We walked and walked and walked. I think this is one of my favorite shots from today…
Ok, I take that back, everyone but Taryn was indecisive, it didn’t take her very long to find her perfect tree. It was love at first sight…
As soon as I downloaded these pictures I felt immediate regret that we didn’t buy it for her. They were perfect for each other.
And given all his cooperation yesterday (see post below this one), I didn’t dare request eye contact ๐ Ty was totally into helping cut down the tree hauling it (worked for us!). You wouldn’t know it from this photo but there were hundreds of people there!!
Well, I did ask for a little cooperation ๐ He’s such a trooper.
Now we just have to decorate it! I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Awesome photos! We’re planning on visiting that very same Christmas tree farm for our tree this year. We’d better get our butts out there before this baby comes (or all the trees are gone from the sounds of it).
SO cute! The one of Taryn and her tree put a wide smile on my face. ๐
Great photos!
They look so grown up! Taryn doesn’t look like a baby at all anymore…{I’ve been a ‘Life in Motion’ regular for ever:)}
