“Tell Em What They’ve Won Bob!!”…sanity

Since our last update on the rebuilding of our house and LRA grant application, not much has happened. We’re still waiting. We’re getting good at waiting. We haven’t done any work on the house because we’re waiting on the money. Well, that’s not exactly true, Jason painted the laundry room and hung up cabinets in there. He also painted a few window sills, but that’s it. We did get a telephone call from the title company that will handle the closing for the grant program, they needed a loan number from us, so at least we know things are moving along. This is good. It makes us anxious. We’re ready. To finish the house, to get out from under the […]

that I introduce a showcase of the results of Ty’s first photography lesson. After covering the basics, he was responsible for the Nikon D50 and asked for very little instruction when actually shooting. I helped out with a little post processing, but not much, cropping, sharpening them for web, etc, but the exposure, aperature / depth of focus, angles and composition are all his. I sure wish I knew this much about photography when I was 9 🙂 And if I do say so myself (mommy goggles included)….he rocks! drumroll please……… Photography by Ty

Our house is officially in mourning with the Saints loss yesterday. We’ve all felt a little sick since last night…..we so wanted to cheer our team on in the Superbowl. And it would have been great for our city. But, it was a good season, our best ever. Here is little Miss T cheering on our boys in black and gold!! I couldn’t find a shirt for Taryn so I made her a dress. This is a boys black size 6 t-shirt that I cut the sleeves off of, ironed on the fleur de lis and tied ribbon in a bow between the neck and each sleeve. She looked sooooo cute!

I’m loving having so many photos of Ty to post, that never happens. I got so many of him on our day out last weekend. Usually it’s a headache to get him in front of the camera, so I’m loving this! I am still working on proofing all of the photos he took, he’s really anxious for me to finish. We bought him a “portfolio” this week for him to keep all his pictures in (LOL, it’s a photo album) 🙂 Stay tuned, they’re coming! Sportin’ a new do? Nope, this was just at the beginning of the day, by the time we hit the next stop, his hair had fallen. It’s funny to see him with spikey hair though. […]

“Our Saints, Our City, Our Soul” Out of the fire And up from the flood A great team is born Made of guts, steel and blood Their history a low one No one can deny Their new rise a slow one But oh now so high This team that I speak of Is of black and gold And travels the gridiron So brave and so bold Their symbol is royalty We call Fleur de lis And proud New Orleanians Watch it with glee Come Deuce and come Reggie Come Drew and come Joe Come Marques and Terrance Now go beat the foe The course is set plainly There is clearly a goal Go show all the world A storm can’t […]
