Brick

Isn’t he just adorable?!  But backoff ladies….I hear Taryn is interested and called first dibs 😉 Cute and he’s going to be a great big brother in just a few weeks!  I did Anne-Marie’s maternity session yesterday and had so much fun.  Brick was totally into being photographed, which is surprising, because his mom loves photography so he’s no stranger to the camera!  I loved it!  Anne-Marie was just glowing yesterday and looked fabulous, I can’t wait to dive into proofing.  We hope to get together during the week sometime before Thanksgiving to do a few on location outdoor shots before the baby comes too.  Think cool grassy fields.

missing home

Of all the days I’ve missed home, today has been the hardest.  Things are settling in and today, for the first time in years, my brother and his family are visiting my mom and stepdad all the way from Oregon for Thanksgiving.  It’s soooo hard to be away knowing everyone is there, especially when you don’t get to see them that often.  It’s a shame, but my brother has never met Ty, can you believe that, and he’s over 10 years old!  He got to meet Taryn when we went to see my grandfather in Oregon before he passed, T had to go with me because I was nursing and Ty couldn’t be out of school during the trip.  It’s […]

3 years….really?

In some ways it feels like so much longer (in a good way!) and in others it feels like just yesterday we had our feet in the sand in Hawaii saying "I do".  So much has happened in 3 years, we found out right after our honeymoon that we came home with a little souvinere from Hawaii, now named Taryn 😉  Being pregnant and having her in the first year of marriage seemed like a lot, then 2 weeks after she was born Jason’s adoption of Ty was finalized, 3 weeks after that, the storm hit and everything changed big time.  Living away from home for months, in various places, with both sets of in-laws, rebuilding the house over the […]

Long time, no blog.

Hey all!  Sorry it’s been awhile.  We live a ways out of the city (I lovingly call it the sticks) and it was a challenge to find internet service we can live with.  We had to go through a few companies and finally have it, but can’t get our wireless up and running, so I’m blogging from the closet.  Seriously.  Does that tell you how disconnected I’ve felt?!  I’m desperate, sitting in the closet, using a box as a desk, taking some "me" time!  =)  I usually hide from the kids in the bathroom for a few minutes at a time but this isn’t too bad…nice and roomy, carpet, heck, it’s half the size of our old bedroom! We are […]

A new blog header…..old bath pic of Taryn but it cracks me up 🙂  It’s like she’s saying "AHHHHHH JOIN THE CHAOS!"  lol Oh, and I added a new list over on the side over there on the right, "What’s in my camera bag", check it out.  I get a lot of emails and questions about what equipment I use so I thought it would be easy just to list it here.  I also used to have a handful of lenses for the D50 (the 85 mm 1.8 and 70-300 but sold them when I bought the 5D). Alright, I gotta get off this computer before Jason gets home with the kids….they ran out to get more tape and I […]

one of my first…

…and the last.  Charli and her family have been with me since the very beginning, when I first started building my portfolio.  It’s been a long, fun ride filled with great memories.  It all started with Addy on the blue chair jut a few months old.  We’ve celebrated Halloween, put Addy and her friends in flower pots, Christmas, Colin’s birthday, Addison’s birthday , she splashed in the tub, and so, so much more.  It’s been a total joy for me to get to be a part of it all!  Yesterday we hung out in Old Town Slidell, took the kids to the park, played in the water jets and even hit the ice cream shop.  I can’t honestly think of a […]
