We made it. 10 days, several states, tons of fun, family parties, the beach, wonderful memories made. We are so thankful for the time we spent together as a family. And after a very long day of travel, we are now home. I miss my mom like crazy already. Goodbye days are the hardest. But we will be glad to be in our own beds tonight.

Slidell Mini Sessions
Real quick, just one of each of the gorgeous 7 kiddos I got to hang out with yesterday….
First up, Ethan. His beautiful momma is a photographer but I saw zero signs of PCS (photographer child syndrome)….he was a dream!
Here are Colin & Addison. They were some of my very first clients here in Louisiana. It’s always fun to see how much they have grown (and boy have they!) Looking at Addi, there is no sign of the itty bitty baby I first photographed, 100% big girl now.

I know this looks like just a simple snapshot of teagan hanging out at my mom and stepdad’s house. But it makes my heart ache….
My first thought is “oh my gosh does he look like ty at this age!” My memories of Ty at 18 months are all wrapped up in this house. My first husband had only been gone a few months, my stepdad had just suffered a spinal cord injury and Ty and I, living an hour away, spent A LOT of time at my parents house while Larry was in the hospital. Today was filled with family. A party, bbq, tons of smiles, lots of noise (no really, LOTS), swimming, water hose fights, games of backyard football, homemade snowcones, kids running every which direction and tons of laughter. With 11 kids, 12 and under, it was totally crazy, but totally fun. I took over 12 gb of photos today but for now, here’s just one of the whole bunch….
Tomorrow is filled with mini sessions, can’t wait!!

1. Teagan weaned. All on his own. Cold turkey. A week ago Friday. I’m sad. And proud. I can look at him right now and say, I grew that. Look what I did. And I’m proud of that. But I miss it. Horribly. Probably doesn’t help that since he went cold turkey that I’m in a lot of pain. Thanks little dude. If y’all hear about a cow exploding just north of Austin, no worries, it’s just me. Seriously though, tough time, end of an era. I’m trying to focus on the positives…like getting my thyroid rechecked and under control.
