My house smells heavenly right now. Hea-ven-ly. I’ve promised a bunch of recipes for food we made over the holiday to those who were with us…and I’ll start here. Not my recipe but one of another Austin momma.

Katie’s “Killer” Chicken Taco’s

Note: I added the killer part because it’s killing me to a) stir and b) wait until dinner time

-Take 1 chicken taco seasoning packet (you can use a reg. taco seasoning packet, but it really doesn’t taste nearly as good), and cover the bottom of the crockpot.

-Lay 6 frozen tenderloins or 3 frozen breasts on top of the seasoning.

I just finished their gallery last night and while this wasn’t the shot I intended when I clicked the shutter, as I thumbed through their proofs, it struck me right away. The way she’s looking at him gets me. I remember that feeling so strongly….those early days where you fall in love with your husband in a new way you never even imagined or dreamed that you would….seeing him as a father. It’s just one of the heart swelling moments that come along with being a new mom. As if having a new baby wasn’t blessing enough, you get this other whole new person to love too, the daddy….

((((I wrote this 10 on Tuesday on an actual Tuesday, just moments before my laptop took a swim in latte. My new imac is up and running and I’m slowly but surely catching up. Thanks for hanging in there with me and sending along a few laughs and a few hugs in your comments!))))…….

After an exhausting day for one brand new mommy and daddy, it is someone’s birthday! having been away from home for over 24 hours, I’m pretty tired. I’ll be away one more day while I recoup, sleep, eat and hug the kiddos I missed….

The beautiful Miss Joan had her official newborn session this afternoon. I’m still working on her birth photos but wanted to pop in and share a few we caught this morning. At 11 days, she’s just a dream. Her mommy told me she’s a snuggle bug and boy is she right!

I’m on hour 16 right now. Of work. No shooting, no proofing, nothing creative. Therefore it = work. I wish I could shoot more and spend a lot less time doing the mundane things that being a photographer and business owner also brings to the table (especially during busy season). 16 hours today of sorting, deleting, replying to emails, uploading, downloading, archiving, burning disks, assembling albums, packaging orders, emailing the lab, counting prints, drafting invoices….all the things I must do, to get to do what I want to do…shoot, talk to my clients.
