So. I’m here.

I’ve stared at the little blinking cursor for a couple of days and I’m not sure what to say.  So I guess I’ll just type for a bit and see what comes out.  Maybe I’ll leave it up for a few days and see if it feels right before hitting publish.  I’m sure it will ramble….

I know I’m long overdue for an update.  Teagan has been very sick, he’s been through what feels like a living hell the last few months.  I cannot imagine anything worse than watching our child suffer.  While I’m not ready to go into specifics or exactly what Teagan is dealing with, it has been a long road filled with […]

1.  Sing it with me now….one of these things is not like the other….one of these things just isn’t the same…..

[I realize this already made an appearance on my facebook page a week or so ago, but I think it needs to be here as well.  I think it is a classic I’ll always want to remember no?!]

2.  Here comes trouble.

He is quite literally in to everything.  I love having a rough and tumble little boy in the house again.  Love it.  But man he keeps me hoppin.  There isn’t a moment that goes by that I don’t soak him in.  […]

It’s a great day to be a Saint!

I can honestly say that I’ve never cried over a football game, so it surprised even me when the field goal kick made it’s way up into the air and the tears came. I am so, so proud of our boys and so happy for our city.   I can remember going to the Saints games as a kid, walking up to the stadium and buying tickets for under $30, only to enter and see a half empty stadium. As a kid, I was excited to be there and cheered for our team.  We experienced a lot of loss through the years yet I’ve always been proud to be a Saints fan. And the Dome, once […]

I am opting out of my usual top 10 this year.  Instead I chose a favorite image of each of the kids.  I realize how they have grown and changed.  For Ty, it was the year he grew (and ATE!), the year he became a better friend, read about 700 pages per week, entered middle school, got his first girlfriend and a cell phone.  He learned about bullies, about the importance of choosing good friends, about being a better friend.  He is thoughtful, and kind.  He loves a good, long hug and time away just for him with either of us.  He’s loud and rowdy and so much fun.  2010 will bring him to an official teenager.  The phone will […]

I knew I wanted to make a collage of my iphone pics at the end of the year.  thank you Michelle Nicoloff for this post, it totally inspired me 🙂

these moments would have been missed.  gone before i grabbed my camera.  too lazy to get up and go get it.  little blurbs.  little glimpses.  of my people, my loves.  these are the moments in my mind, even more so than the properly exposed and processed ones.  imperfect, real.  i got my iphone in july.  i love it.  i love that it forces me to accept the imperfections.  i not only accept them, i embrace them.  and i forgive myself for it.  maybe that is why so many people are […]
