1.  Our babies came to us easily.  For that we are lucky and blessed.  And, thankfully, ignorant when it comes to infertility.  We were ignorant.  Our friends Lee Ann and Dennis are fighting infertility.  Fighting a long fight, a roller coaster of emotions at every high and low.  I never truly understood….I mean I thought I knew a thing or two about what those who battle infertility go through, but I didn’t.  Not really.  Lee Ann and Dennis are amazing.  And strong.  And open.  I know it must be so difficult to be so open about something so painful, but they do it.  Jason and I have learned a lot from them reading their blog and I […]

1.  SO glad friday is here.  This week was totally craptastic.  Truly, it was.  A broken vehicle remedied by trading it in.  A broken dishwasher remedied by a service call amounting to $125 for less than 15 minutes of service time.  One extremely onery 4 year old.  One 12 year old who is struggling in 3 classes and had one week (this week) to pull the grades up just under the wire.  We did it though.  And I do me ‘WE’.  One kid in urgent care for the better part of Sunday.  Same kid took a fall yesterday at the dino park and landed in the ER with a severed/sliced tongue (ouch!) and a big fat lip.

sigh…

You ever have one of those days where things just don’t go right.  Nothing bad happened, but nothing goes as planned?  Today was that day.

My session first thing this morning didn’t go as planned, so bummed about that.  Then I got a call from my husband on my way home that the repair place called about my Explorer and the repairs would be more than the stupid thing is worth.  Sigh….we planned on replacing it with a minivan this year but we weren’t ready yet.  Much less on short notice.  With our work schedules and kids activities, 2 of the 3 need carpool and pre-k drop offs / pickups….we are sooo not a one car family.  So we found ourselves […]

snow day

2010-02-23T22:16:45-06:00February 23rd, 2010|Austin Photographer, My Family|

Be warned, this is a marathon post filled with snapshots, color casts, out of focus images and just everyday stuff.  But it’s also filled with love, so I can overlook the rest, hope you can too.

Today was good.  Today I put work down.  I let the house go.  I enjoyed the most simple of pleasures with my kids and….it was good.  Really good.  My husband was grouchy today (what is there to be grouchy about dude?).  The kids were crazy.  Excited.  Wired.  Fun.  And even though the house got trashed, there are piles of wet clothes and sneakers and socks and mittens by the front door, the stack of dishes and crap piled up on the counters in the kitchen […]

1.  Yesterday on the way home from preschool Taryn chatted in the backseat about the clouds and the sky.  Then all of a sudden I hear…..”Mommy, I bet God is old, you know, reaaaallllly oooooooooold.”  So I asked her how old she thinks God is and she said “thirty“.  Awesome.  I’m older than God.  And I thought older than dirt was bad.  That’s ok, its not quite as bad as the time when Ty was about her age and asked my Mom what it was like to live when the dinosaurs roamed the earth….bwahahaha!

2.  Another car thing….when we leave our house we have a choice of two entrances to our neighborhood to leave through, one to the right, one to […]

the birthday party that wasn’t

2010-02-18T00:45:31-06:00February 18th, 2010|Austin Photographer, My Family|

Teagan hasn’t been feeling well and while we had his birthday party all planned, the cake and balloons ordered and the house all cleaned and ready….it just didn’t happen.  Poor little guy, it is not fun to be sickly on your birthday!  And while we had to forgo the party on the day of with all his friends, Jason’s parents still made the trip up from Corpus to help us celebrate our dude turning two (thanks Grandma & Grandpa!).  And even though the house wasn’t filled with fun toddlers like we’d planned, we still had cake made by the fabulous Humble Pie Desserts in Round Rock (so yummy!), opened gifts and just enjoyed our little dude.
