two years ago….

taryn had just developed a fear of the vacuum cleaner.  it hasn’t changed….she still runs in fear at the mere mention of it.  teagan on the other hand gets all giddy, runs and attacks it with gusto.  how two kids from the same gene pool can be sooooo different continues to amaze me.

can you believe i have not picked up my camera once all week?!  not one time.  not one photo of the kids.  it may be that i’m just exhausted trying to keep up with them during the first week of summer break, i dunno.  gotta pick it up today.  i miss it.

and how did all you austinites fare […]

1.  For weeks I have been doubting our decision to keep Taryn in school over the summer.  I worried we are pushing her too hard.  I worried we are stealing her summer break from her.  I worried it would be tiresome for the boys going back and forth so much to drop off / pick up.  I honestly longed for the freedom of not packing lunches or adding school stuff to my calendar or packing backpacks.  But after one week off and only 2 full days at home with both the boys, it’s crystal clear, we made the right decision.  Without a doubt.  She needs something of her own this summer.  Something away from the boys and she loves school.  […]

I’ve been meaning to do this forever, and finally got around to it.  Not easy.  At all.  T and I worked hard for these, and I’m so glad I captured my girl with her dog.  It’s been awhile.

all ya gotta do is say “sit pretty”

I think this pretty much sums it all up.  They are buds.  They watch out for each other.  They drive each other crazy at times, just as most best friends […]

I thought several times about posting here today and just felt blah about it.  I hate that.  This is my place.  To document my life, my children, my work.  I don’t ever want to feel blah about that.  I am thankful for all the comments and support, I honestly didn’t have any idea how it would all go down putting it all out there.  So thank you.  Hopefully it will send a message, but overall, it makes me sad that I feel more protective and have the urge to pull in the reins some.  Yet here I am.  This blog is mine.  And if I want to post, I will.  If people don’t play nice, I’ll password protect it if […]

sass.  that word alone sums her up here recently.  the other day in Target she was demanding this and that and I kept reminding her to talk politely, say please, etc.  finally, she looks at me, exasperated, and says “Mommy, I’m all out of pleases today!”.  I told her then I was all out of “yes’s”.  she proceeded to scowl at me for a bit, but got over it.  she’s always thinking, the wheels are always turning and some days i feel like i just can’t keep up with her and her constant antics.  when people ask me about the differences between parenting the boys vs. my girl, i always easily reply “my girl is twice as much work as […]

After my cry for help, we started to get to work around here.  First up, tackling my desk.  We bought some supplies, boxes, cubbies, dividers and a new bookcase to house everything from paper to portrait packaging supplies like ribbon, presentation boxes, albums and so much more.

Jase put the bookcase we bought together last night and I LOVE it.  The best part is yet to come, the doors are big frames for (what else) PHOTOS.  How flippin cool is that.  Big photos!  15 in x75….yummmmm-e.  And you know you’re hardcore organized when your labels need labels….

Funny story, the other day when […]
