because i don’t want to forget

This morning, as I was dozing in and out, trying to convince myself to put at least one foot out of the bed, Jason was up with the kids cooking breakfast.  As I dozed out again I felt a little tap on my forehead, just between my eyes.  And before I even opened them, I thought it would be Taryn standing there, because that is her old trick.  But it was Teagan.  I opened them, smiled in surprise that it was him, and groggily closed them again.  He said “Momma, Momma, I ready”.  “You’re ready bud?”, I asked, assuming he meant ready to play, ready to start his day, ready to go.  But my little man said “Ready to ‘nuggle….” […]

these are for my mom.  who *almost* never complains about never getting photos of the kids anymore.  or that I rarely even send the ones I do take.  or that she’s still waiting on me to proof all the photos from our trip to her house *last* summer.  or that all the walls in her big, new house at the beach are blank and awaiting to be a life in motion gallery, just like her old house was.  or that she was supposed to see the kids over spring break, but I took on too much work to be able to go.  she certainly has more patience with me than I would if I were her.  I know that she […]

I love….that our lives are so intertwined that when I go to look for a photo of one of them, I always have to stop and think about whether it’s mixed in with my family photos or in their “client” folder…..

I love….that my children and theirs are at their happiest when they are together, no matter what they are doing…..

I love…..the little girl giggles and the dress up and the play dates and the long girly telephone calls and the constant scheming to be together.

I love…..that they will grow up and never remember […]

1.  It seems I am sinking.  I have a hard drive full of images that need some love and attention so that I can send them off to my clients.  I am super behind…on everything, editing, email, voicemail, packaging orders, etc.  If you are waiting on me for something, I’m sorry, I’m coming, I promise!  Between Jason going out of town last weekend and being on my own with the boys, Teagan’s health issues and my kids being off for spring break, figuring out summer camps, signing up for dance classes, trips to the doctor and dentist…..I’m sinking.  If you’re waiting on proofs from me, head on over to the Life in Motion Facebook Fanpage and look for a […]

It was just me and boys this weekend.  Jase took Taryn down to Corpus to go to a wedding.  I’ll confess….I loved it.  That probably sounds horrid, but I did.  It was quiet and peaceful and drama free.  Teagan threw one fit all weekend and it was because he was overtired.  There was next to no whining out of him either, which was awesome.  Taryn brings so many wonderful things to our family….and along with those things come the noise.  I don’t think I fully comprehended the noise level she contributes until this weekend.  I’ve also realized that we really need to address her issues with being so demanding….my eyes were […]

I’m reminded that capturing their everyday moments is so valuable to me.  What they do slowly becomes who they are.  Every night, we eat together as a family at the table.  We talk and eat and duck should food go flying across the table.  We ask Taryn to stop wiggling, we shoe the dog away from Teagan.  After seconds and sometimes thirds, Ty loads the dishwasher and jumps in the shower.  Jase does bath duty with the little ones.  They run out, clean, messy hair, giggling.  Buzz and monkey jammies with wet noggins they […]
