the divas

Alli just sent me these and oh gosh, they crack me up.  I didn’t bring my camera but thankfully Alli’s mom had her point and shoot in her purse.  These two were something else!  I love the little kid pedi chairs (thanks Becky for the recommendation!!).  The little trays are dvd players, how cool is that?!

The look on Taryn’s face in the last shot cracks me up! My girl loves a good massage.  If you could have heard their conversations, so funny.  I don’t think the workers had any idea what was coming their way when the blond hair, blue eyed, divas stopped in.  Alli thanks for sending these to me!  […]

two years ago….

taryn had just developed a fear of the vacuum cleaner.  it hasn’t changed….she still runs in fear at the mere mention of it.  teagan on the other hand gets all giddy, runs and attacks it with gusto.  how two kids from the same gene pool can be sooooo different continues to amaze me.

can you believe i have not picked up my camera once all week?!  not one time.  not one photo of the kids.  it may be that i’m just exhausted trying to keep up with them during the first week of summer break, i dunno.  gotta pick it up today.  i miss it.

and how did all you austinites fare […]

1.  For weeks I have been doubting our decision to keep Taryn in school over the summer.  I worried we are pushing her too hard.  I worried we are stealing her summer break from her.  I worried it would be tiresome for the boys going back and forth so much to drop off / pick up.  I honestly longed for the freedom of not packing lunches or adding school stuff to my calendar or packing backpacks.  But after one week off and only 2 full days at home with both the boys, it’s crystal clear, we made the right decision.  Without a doubt.  She needs something of her own this summer.  Something away from the boys and she loves school.  […]

I’ve been meaning to do this forever, and finally got around to it.  Not easy.  At all.  T and I worked hard for these, and I’m so glad I captured my girl with her dog.  It’s been awhile.

all ya gotta do is say “sit pretty”

I think this pretty much sums it all up.  They are buds.  They watch out for each other.  They drive each other crazy at times, just as most best friends […]

Not sure how it happened, but my “baby” is 12.  How can that be?  It wasn’t long ago that he was born, just the blink of an eye really.  Yet here we are.  I tried hard to find a few photos of him as a baby, but we lost so many to hurricane katrina.  I managed to dig up a few that had been in the attic and were somewhat spared.  Some have water spots, or are printed on regular old paper.  But it’s what we have.  I look at these and every one makes me smile.  He was a sweet baby.  A cute toddler and active, fun little kid.  […]
