seriously.  it’s june.  when i got in my car this afternoon, the thermometer said 117…once I got it running it went down to 106, but good Lord, it’s just unbearable.  to make it worse, our electricity was out for the better part of the day for now apparent reason.  we took refuge at the pool for awhile, but it wasn’t enough.  thankfully, now that the sun is down and then temp is “only” in the high 80’s, our AC has caught up and it is a bit cooler in here.  i simply cannot imagine what august will be like at this rate.

ps – my email was down for quite awhile today […]

snapshots of the morning variety | austin family photography

2009-06-22T14:52:39-05:00June 22nd, 2009|My Family|

This morning after breakfast, Jase left to go bring Taryn to school, Ty started in on the breakfast dishes and Teagan was roaming around the house playing.  As usual my camera was on the kitchen counter and I snapped these snapshots.  It went something like this…..(((teagan calls ty “baba”)))…..

“BABA BABA bee-boo??  BABA BABA bee-boo?”  (((peekaboo)))  Then he’d hide around the corner and pop his head out with a “boo!”

Ty happened to be jammin out to his ipod and singing along quite loudly.  While I was wishing for some earplugs, Teagan was shaking his booty.

then it was off to read a few books […]

Oh what a difference a year makes | Austin Family Photographer

2009-06-21T19:14:48-05:00June 21st, 2009|Austin Photographer, My Family|

Last year, Father’s Day ’08.  Teagan was 4 months old.

And oh what a year it has been.  What a difference a mere 365 days makes.  Father’s Day ’09….

What a chunk.  I’m kind of proud of that, how much he’s grown, having nursed him for the last year.  On the brink of weaning, I can look at him and say, I helped grow that.  Crazy.  We really had no intention of ever redoing this shot, but today, just before dinner we were bored and decided to give it a whirl just so we could compare and see how much he’s changed.  I dug […]

one on tuesday | austin photographer

2009-06-16T22:35:50-05:00June 16th, 2009|My Family|

I don’t have it in me to do 10 today.  It was a rough day for the kids.  I feel like they chewed me up and spit me out.  I think they read the blog yesterday about all that goodness and decided to rise up and revolt.  Yeah, probably not.  I think it’s just way to freakin’ hot and we’re all cranky.

So, here is my one on Tuesday.  He’ll wear anything on his head these days, everything is a hat.  And when he wears a hat, he also sports his evil laugh.  Not sure why, but the two go hand in hand.

Tomorrow is a new day.

Today was filled with goodness.  Good little details that make up life.  A simple day, with good moments.  I love days like this.  I am thankful for them.

We woke up to Teagan talking to himself, happy little babble.  So cute.  I love the sounds coming through the monitor.  The children actually napped.  Not at the same time, but they both got sleep, I cannot complain about that.  I had an amazing meeting with some people who could have a huge and awesome impact on my business.  My mind is full with ideas and opportunity.  Opportunity is such a great thing.  I am thankful for wonderful clients who continue to share themselves with me, long after their portraits have been delivered.  […]

pj day | austin family photographer

I had big plans of taking the kids into Birds for haircuts but today turned into a lazy day instead.  We all sat around in our jammies all day, ty built big forts out of sheets for the little kids in the living room and we were just lazy.  It was really, really nice.  I also managed to pick up my camera a bit, it’s been too long, I missed it.  Just one of Teagan for now.

The kid is fast.  He runs everywhere.  Belly first.  Love it.
