I’m still here. Just not sure where to start or what to say. Not very many good things have been going on, so I’ve found myself a bit speechless around here. home from the ER, once again.

This has been a horrible, horrible week for our family. Earlier this week Teagan was rushed to the ER for breathing issues (full story in my post below). We’ve been struggling to keep Taryn well enough to have surgery next week. It was just supposed to be to have her tonsils and adenoids removed but through the entire nightmare that is surgery pre-op workups, blood work, audiology exams, cultures, etc., we found out the surgery will be more extensive that we initially hoped. Her ENT said this is one of the worst cases she’s seen in a very long time, her adenoids are so huge they are all but blocking off the area behind her nose. Her tonsils are almost […]

I just wanted to post really quick to say I haven’t totally disappeared. If you’ve emailed me or called and haven’t gotten a reply, I will get back to you. Everything went crazy when Taryn & Teagan started to not feel very well. I went in to check on Teagan around 10:30 pm last night and his breathing sounded off. We tried to move him to his side to see if that helped but it just woke him up and he started with a coughing fit. every now and then taryn will run up to me while i’m at the computer and ask to watch a ‘movie’ which means she wants to watch a slideshow. sometimes she likes to watch client ones and sometimes family ones. we watched a few and taryn, teagan and I laughed and giggled and talked about what photos we liked. then i clicked on teagan’s first year slideshow and it made me all nostalgic and weepy. especially because i realized i haven’t been taking very many photos of just every day stuff here lately. don’t get me wrong, i have over 1500 family photos to proof from this month alone since […]

I was wrapping up work for the night and went to go check on the kids one last time before heading to bed myself. As I rounded the corner in the hall, I noticed Taryn’s light was on and the door open. Not that strange since she’ll sometimes get up to go to the bathroom then head straight back to bed and go to sleep (most of the time anyway). Then I heard the rustling of paper. When I landed at her door I was shocked to see she was sitting on her bed, feet propped up, wide awake, reading.

Ty started Middle School today. Yeah, 6th grade.

HOW DID THIS HAPPEN??!!

No. Seriously. I need an answer because just the other day he was 4 and thought I hung the moon AND the stars. Somewhere in between I went from a sweet “mommy” to “mawwm”….drawn out, exasperated with a tint of “oh no, please don’t embarrass me in this moment”.

Here he is on the way out the door. Totally not posed, he just always seems to have a book in his hand, especially when heading out to the car!
