the birthday party that wasn’t

Teagan hasn’t been feeling well and while we had his birthday party all planned, the cake and balloons ordered and the house all cleaned and ready….it just didn’t happen.  Poor little guy, it is not fun to be sickly on your birthday!  And while we had to forgo the party on the day of with all his friends, Jason’s parents still made the trip up from Corpus to help us celebrate our dude turning two (thanks Grandma & Grandpa!).  And even though the house wasn’t filled with fun toddlers like we’d planned, we still had cake made by the fabulous Humble Pie Desserts in Round Rock (so yummy!), opened gifts and just enjoyed our little dude.

I coerced my dear friend Michele into doing a session at night awhile back.  She and I found babysitters, got all dolled up and took our hubbies out on the town.  It was so much fun for Jase and I to go do something just for us, to get dressed up, and have a real meal without cutting up little pieces, to go cuddle in the dark and be together for while.  We had a blast and the end result just has my heart jumping for joy.  Photos of me and Jase, with the focus on us (NOT the kids)….just us.  Love that.

1.  I have come to the realization that I’m never going to catch up.  If it didn’t happen in January, it’s probably not going to.  I have sessions that are 2 months old that I haven’t blogged yet, not to mention a few births and a stack of personal photos.  I haven’t been taking very many photos at home though this month….thankfully the iphone is never far away….
